GIA'S POV

I took my heels off and fell back on my bed. I was beyond exhausted. I looked up at the ceiling and finally came to the realization that I actually missed Alessandro. I thought his absence would make me lose the little feelings I have for him but I just miss him more. It's true that distance makes the heart grow fonder.

My phone began ringing. I smiled when I saw it was him calling.

"Hello?"

"How are you princess?" He asked, his voice making my chest swirl with emotion.

I sighed. "I'm alright thanks and you?"

"Could be better. I actually miss bothering you." He said making me smile.

"I also miss you bothering me." I replied, truthfully.

"Did you just admit that you miss me? I'm absolutely gobsmacked."

I chuckled. "What are you up to?"

"Just had lunch. Now I'm on my way to meet the President." He replied. "How did the party go?"

"It went well. Ella was happy with the setup and she had a blast. I think Rafael making a guest appearance topped the night." I laughed remembering the event.

"Oh - Rafael actually went?"

His tone changed and I sensed a bit of jealousy.

"Yes, he did. It was the cherry on top."

I could hear him let out a heavy breath.

"I'm glad you had fun. I wish I was there."

I turned to lie on my side. "Me too."

"I've got to get out the car now, princess. I'll call you again soon."

He quickly hung up.

He was in Washington for a royal visit. Alessandro was set to meet with the President today to become acquainted with one another. Everyone wanted to be on his good side since they knew he'd be the future King soon. I quickly went on YouTube and clicked on the link that showed their meeting. The live video had millions of views.

Alessandro got out of the car and was surrounded by many bodyguards. He looked handsome in a navy blue shirt with a pure white shirt inside. He was tall and easily stood out amongst others. The American president came towards him and shook his head.

There was a procession to welcome Alessandro. He stood next to the president and his wife as they watched the soldiers march in an orderly fashion.

I hated how I was falling for him more and more. Just the sound of his voice was enough to brighten my day. My stomach did somersaults each time he called me princess. I needed to find a way to get over him. He was marrying Beatrice. I had to move on and find something to distract me.

I quickly texted Rafael asking if he was free tomorrow. He instantly responded.

I switched my phone off and dozed off to sleep.
