Drix had to find a way to get through to Reil. She was still refusing to hear him out.
He couldn't blame her though, if he were in her shoes, with the way Zee had explained it all, he'd be really mad.
But he still had to have a chance to explain. He just hoped she'd listen to everything he had to say.
He groaned. His life had undoubtedly been miserable since Zee called him three weeks back.
He couldn't even go to work so Bill had been taking care of all that needed to be done in the office.
Bill certainly was a great friend, and if Drix didn't know much, he'd have said he wanted to offer a raise but Bill'd think he'd lost it.
Now, back to Reil and how to ge—
The hair on Drix's neck shot out and goosebumps coated the area at the feeling of being watched.
It wasn't possible for anyone to possibly be around, right?
He didn't have anyone who worked in the house, and the guards dared not come in without his permission.
He stood up from his office chair (not that he was doing any work), then checked around the office.
No one.
He was probably overreacting. It could be because he missed Reil and her presence.
Hopefully, she'd forgive him soon and live with him and their child.

“Hope your stay here wasn't as terrible as expected.” Sarah winked at her, leaning her figure on the slab of the kitchen.Reil shrugged a little. “You aren't such a bad hostess, I guess.”
Sarah snickered, before walking to the fridge, which she opened. “You haven't had anything to eat today. Eat before you leave.”
“I don't want to bother you more,”
She waved a hand to brush it off. “Oh come on, it's no bother.”
“There really isn't a need.” Sarah had done so much for Reil, she didn't want to bother her more, “and perhaps, I'm sure Ivy already made a feast.”
It had been a lot of work to get Ivy to leave.
Reil had to do a lot of convincing that there was no need for them to leave together.
A driver was going to come pick her up in two hours time so she was going to get home safely.
Ivy had said she'd go to her house to ensure the maid had taken care of everything (though Reil was certain there was nothing to take care of) in the house.
Also, Reil needed some alone time to process all that was happening in her life at the moment.
She was having a child.
For an unfaithful man.
But she also didn't want to be a single mother, she wasn't sure if she had the strength for that.
Single mothers were one of the strongest people she knew, while she was one of the weakest people she knew.
So what could she do? Would she be able to forgive him after knowing he had a girlfriend (if Zeekle was telling the truth and was his girlfriend), and a son who'd be craving for his father's love.
If they're living together, she was sure she'd be selfish when it came to him having a father-son time with Angle.
And that would be unfair to the poor little boy who just wants a father's love.
Maybe it's for the best if she should just stay away from him.
“You listening to me, Reil?” Sarah snapped her out of her thoughts.
“Huh?”
Sarah rolled her eyes. “I told you I'm making something for you and there's no buts to it.”
She couldn't argue again as her mind had already taken her to the down train trip.
“Okay.” She couldn't even give her tone a pinch of humor.
“Something wrong?” Sarah asked, obviously trying to veil the concern in her tone.
Well, if there was anyone she'd begun feeling comfortable with, it was Sarah so it's best to just talk to her.
“Yeah, it's just this Drix thing.” She sighed, wishing she'd just open her eyes and find out it was all a dream.
That the day she wanted to tell Drix about the baby, she had done exactly that and there was no Zeekle in their story.
“I think you shouldn't stress yourself so much.”
“I know.” She didn't need to be told again that it wasn't good for the baby's health. She knew that far too well.
“You ready to give the dude a listening ear?” Sarah asked in a low and calm tone, that Reil felt it was already a necessity to talk to him.
“I guess it won't hurt.”
Sarah's face lit up. “Great, you should talk to him today so you can sleep in peace again.”
“Today?” She drew her brows together. “I think I should postpone it, I've got to be at the hospital today.”
Sarah rolled her eyes, followed by a sigh. “Then go after the hospital trip, duh.”
“Well, okay, I guess.” This was it. She was finally going to talk to him.
“I'll make something then we could both talk some more till your driver arrives.” Sarah winked.
The sound of the doorbell filled the house.
“I'll get it,” Sarah said as she started towards the door. “Probably a friend from church.”
As Reil watched Sarah walk towards the door, she could never be more grateful to have a friend like her.
Sarah was a great girl, and she'd been taking care of the company alone without a day of complaining.
She was special and rare and deserved a man that'd acknowledge her and her personality.
