"Oh look who finally decided to come back after a week of recovery." Sarah greeted with sarcasm in her tone as Reil walked into the office.
"Well, it's nice to know you missed me." She winked, then headed to her desk where she took her seat.
Sarah stood in front of the desk. "I only missed working with someone." She sighed dramatically, "I thought I was going to die if you didn't come soon."
"Well, it's nice to see you're still alive." She shifted a few strands of hair that were disturbing her face as she bent to stare at some papers on the desk, behind her ear. "What do we have here?"
Sarah stood on tiptoes so she could see the papers Reil was talking about. "Those are some paperworks you have to sign."
"Oh," Reil stared at all the papers and wondered when she'd finish signing them all. "What are they about?" She asked instead.
Sarah stood straight, walking to the gray couch where she took a seat, leaning her head on the headrest as she closed her eyes.
"Some are permissions you'd be granting the production team regarding the products to be sent," she said in a tired tone.
"And?"
"Others are for the sales team," she continued, "granting them access to allot fifty goods within the input system before accessing their expected result when actually delivered to the Rendox for sale."
If Reil said she understood what had been said, she'd be lying, "oh, okay," but the right thing was to pretend to do, right?
"So, you'd be signing those first," Sarah continued with still shut eyes, "and when you're done, you've got some postponed meetings to attend to, paperworks to check out, sales booster to examine and many more."
Woah. She really was greeted by tons of work.
"Oh and,"
Sarah was cut off by the ringing of Reil's phone that was in her gray purse, she thought matched the black gown she'd worn that lay mid-thigh and showed an awful and satisfying lot of her cleavage.
She opened her purse, removing her phone from it.
She wasn't sure if to be surprised when 'dad' flashed on the screen.
Why was he calling? He called once in a while, but he certainly wouldn't call her while she was at work.
Well, only one way to know the answer.
"Hello dad." She greeted after answering the call and placing the phone to her ear.
"Hey," he didn't sound like he had bad news to greet her with which she took as good.
"Anything wrong?" She asked either way.
"Nah." He replied, then continued, "I've been meaning to come check on you since Ivy told me you sprained your ankle," he explained, "also since she said you'd come to meet with me when I wasn't around last time."
"Oh, yeah, it wasn't something important. Just wanted to check on you."
"Well, I'm here to check on you, but it seems like you've healed and can walk, heard you're at work."
She pulled her brows in slight surprise and confusion. "You're at my house?"
"Sadly, but it seems I picked the wrong time to head over."
Suddenly feeling bad to have put him in such situation, she said, "I can quickly leave work to come check on you. Stay there."
She was about to stand up when his voice stopped her. "Nonsense. You shouldn't let your personal and work life fight against each other, okay?"
She rolled her eyes though he couldn't see her, but she was sure he knew she did it (as she always did it whenever he was giving her business ideas).
"Dad, please don't lecture me. I won't come home, okay?"
"Good." She was sure he had the particular -I'm proud of my daughter- smile on, that he always had whenever she talked to him about business.
"So, how's work going?" He asked.
"Great actually." Lie. She hadn't even worked for a while and coming to work again (though she'd just been there for about thirty minutes) wasn't helping with her boredom.
"Are you staying at my place or heading home already?" She asked in a soft tone.
"Home. We could talk some other day, okay?"
"Yeah yeah, whatever." She said dismissively, "bye then."
"Bye." Then he hung up.
She returned her phone back to her purse, realizing Sarah was still there in the same position.
"So what else do I have to do?" She asked to the silence.
"Sarah." She called softly, but still, no reply.
"Sarah?" Getting slightly concerned, she rose to her feet. Sarah wouldn't just not respond.
Was she alright? Had she fainted? Or had something worse happened.
Sauntering over to where Sarah sat, she realized there wasn't any of that happening to her, she was just asleep.
Reil rolled her eyes. She must've been very tired because she barely ever did things that were not business-like.
Reil didn't wake her up though she wanted to. Work must've been a handful, she deserved to rest at least once in a while.
She walked back to her desk.
It was time to get to business, but first she had one thing to do...
