Drix's body stiffened as soon as Reil's hand left his.
Oh no no no.
What had Zee done? Why had she come? She'd promise to never meet with him again after the millions of dollars he sent to her.
He could feel Reil's hurt gaze at him, but he didn't dare return it.
He could sense that he'd lost her forever.
“Is this true?” She asked in a tone that explained how hurt she was.
When he turned to her, there were tears in her eyes.
Zee hadn't explained it well. She'd said it so differently from the truth.
“Reil,” hopefully she'd give him the chance to explain.
He reached for her hand, but she immediately slapped his, taking a step backwards.
“You lied to me.” She sniffed in, tears flowing down her cheeks like rivers.
“I know, I'm sor—”
“You told me you've never had sex before, but you have a son.” Her hand flew to her stomach, and she shook her head before pivoting and running farther from him.
Not what he wanted.
“Reil!” He ran after her, and thankfully he was faster than she was, grabbing hold of her hand and stopping her movement.
“Fuck off!” She pulled apart from him, her face red and unending tears flowing through her.
“Please don't go.” He couldn't live without her. She mustn't leave.
“Is that why you've been acting all fucked up lately?!” The hurt in her words pierced through his heart.
The last thing he wanted was to hurt her, yet that's the only thing he'd ever done to her.
She stretched her hand to the road, stopping a cab, she sniffed in again, staring at him, her hands holding the car door knob.
“Do you seriously have a child?” She sounded like she hoped he'd say it was all a joke, but he couldn't.
Tears rolled down his cheeks, as disappointment in himself filled him. “Yes,” his words were just above a whisper and were enough to get a wince from her.
“Did you know about the child?” She was giving him the chance to prove himself worthy of her forgiveness.
But he couldn't, his head fell in disappointment. “Yes.”
He noticed the confused look the driver of the cab was offering them, but it was soon turned to a knowing look and he have him a disappointed look.
Even the man was disappointed in him. Pathetic.
“Don't ever contact me again!” She ordered in a stern tone, opening the car door and closing it once she was in.
The car zoomed off leaving him to watch his happiness zoom off.
He ran a hand through his hair. “Shit.” He should've stopped her. He should've done something. Anything.
Zee strolled towards him with Angle beside her, swaying her hips with every movement.
Gosh he'd never hated a female so much. She was the cause of Reil leaving him.
“Why are you here?” He asked through gritted teeth.
She didn't have any look of sympathy on what she'd done to him, and she tugged her hair behind her ear.
He resisted the urge to shout at her as there was an extremely afraid boy beside her.
The boy being his son. Gosh, how had his life taken such a turn of events.
“I paid you millions of dollars in exchange for you never arriving in my life.” He clenched his fist, annoyance greeting him.
She didn't seem to care. “You're a billionaire, you think paying me ten million dollars is enough to keep me from your life?”
He took a large stride forward, closing the gap between them, but Zee didn't look the least intimidated. “Look at what the fuck you've cost me. Don't you think that's more than any fucking billion?”
Her indifferent expression irritated him further, and she seemed to be having pleasure in irritating him.
“And what the heck did you call yourself? My girlfriend?” That was probably one of the main things that drew Reil apart. “Who the hell made you my girlfriend?”
She shrugged like it didn't matter. “Maybe you shouldn't have had sex with me five years ago, and leave me alone with my four year old son.”
He groaned, taking a few steps backwards as he ran a hand through his hair in frustration.
“What the fuck do you want from me?” He asked in a growl. “Isn't ten million and a promise to sponsor Angle's education enough?”
“It was.” She began playing with her manicured hand. “Till it wasn't.”
Frustration was an understatement as to what he was feeling at the moment.
Reil had left him, all for some idiot that wants nothing but money from him.
“What do you want from me?” He asked in defeat and her exultant smile pissed him off.
“I want our son to have the best life you could offer him.”
He turned to Angle who was already close to tears. He obviously wasn't comfortable with whatever shit Zee was making him do.
His thoughts went back to Reil and the fact he might never see her again. “Why did you have to choose now as the right time to come?”
She shrugged nonchalantly, and looked like it annoyed her that he changed the topic.
“I'd send you another ten million dollars, after that, never contact me again.” He warned, grabbing his phone from the pocket of his pants, and sending a message to a driver to come pick him up.
He couldn't drive in his state. Neither could he lose Reil. He'd use his all to fight for her.
Zee didn't seem too pleased by the idea. “You know, all I want isn't just money.”
Obviously that was all she cared about, but he didn't have the energy to argue.
He stared at Angle again. His son.
Gosh, it all still felt weird.
He wouldn't have believed he was his son if the result didn't prove it ninety-nine percent true.
He had a four year old son. How on earth could he take the news? Especially if it cost him his relationship with Reil?
