Truthfully, when Reil had called him, he'd been surprised by that.

They hadn't spoken for a week and although he'd thought of calling her once in a while, he didn't and certainly didn't think she'd call him.

He just guessed she was busy, as he was also really busy at the moment.

It was the busy season for business people, so he hadn't blamed anyone for not calling.

But when she'd called and said they should meet by the river which was already his favorite place, he was both surprised and elated.

He was standing by the river, waiting for her to arrive.

Had he come too early? Wouldn't he look a little too desperate to see her? What would she think when she saw him?

Seconds later, the sound of heels came to his hearing as her figure came to view, sauntering towards him.

The breeze blowing her hair behind her and making her look even prettier than she should look in his eyes.

He noticed how the black mid-thigh length gown she had on accentuated her curves.

How her lips pulled to a smile when she sighted him.

“Hey.” She said when she was standing at a comfortable gap in front of him.

The fact she seemed shy confused him. Was it because she'd told him all about her life?

He turned to the river and she came to stand beside him as they both watched it in silence.

“Was something bothering you?” He broke the silence that was beginning to irritate him.

“Actually… not really.” She turned to him, causing him to have to turn to her and locking gaze which caused his heart to beat a little faster.

“You know, I'm going to be taking the third company from my brother on Monday.” She said, seeming exultant, but he was flummoxed.

She seemed to have noticed his perplexed expression because she began;

“Oh I didn't tell you,” she stared back at the river, “actually, my dad has five groups under the Elrey company, that is the hotel group, real estate group, health group, production group and the sales and distribution.

“These are arranged according to their ranking. The hotel is the highest and the one which yields the most profit and Bale was in charge of the entire five until a few months back when we met.

“My dad has always wanted me to take part in the business industry, but I just cared about guys, but then I decided to do it and now I'm the CEO of the least two.”

The rate at which her life story interested him was unexplainable.

He wanted to know more about her and wanted to speak to her more.

“Wow, that's good.”

“Yeah, but I don't like the way Bale leads.” She continued, “he only cares about making profit and boosting the stocks, which is good, except he's forgetting the people who'd help with that goal, the employees.”

The way she said it warmed his heart. She truly was great.

“I don't want the Elrey company to be a place where people wouldn't advise others to apply for a job, because that could not only be affect our workers, but also the customers.

“Who'd want to invest in a place where the workers aren't treated like humans?”

He loved the way she was talking about it and he found himself liking her more.

Not liking in a different way.

“No one.” Though it was a rhetorical question, he answered because she was right.

“Yeah, and that's why I want to take all five companies from him.” She said and went silent.

After a moment, he broke it again. “And you want to take the health group?”

“Hmm.”

“How do you plan on doing that?”

Her face lit up and she stared at him like she'd been waiting for him to ask her that.

“Oh Sarah's so smart, she brought an idea I would never have thought of…”

She explained everything she'd done with Sarah and what the outcome would be.

It was actually a smart thing to do. “I'm happy for you.”

He smiled and watched as her gaze shifted from him to the river and the color rose to her cheeks.

He turned to the river also, burying his hands into the pocket of his pants.

“Summer's ending soon, I'll miss it.” She said, suddenly changing the subject.

“I guess, I'm not the heat type, I guess it's your favorite season?”

“It is.”

“What do you like about it?”

She let out a chortle probably recalling something.

“I like the fact that I can dress in whatever short sleeve and whatever, and wouldn't have to care about freezing.”

He snickered. “I guess you don't fancy winter.”

She shook her head. “Winter clothes aren't my type of dressing.”

An image popped in his head and he couldn't hold back the chuckle that left him.

“What?” Curious Reil asked, giving him a half glance.

“I just pictured you in a hoodie and jeans.” He laughed when he noticed her cringe.

“Sheesh.”

“I've never seen you in jeans so that'd be a change.”

“Jeans ain't my thing.” She sighed. “I'll miss the summer.

“But a new season would come and you need to adapt to the changes. That's life.” He didn't know where that came from but it did and he noticed her soften.

“Yeah, thanks.”

They talked some more about her business plan and about life.

He certainly did not regret trading his rest time to be there with her at the moment. It felt natural how her presence gave him peace. Even more than the river did.
