Chapter Seventy-Eight

Flashback.

Reil watched as Sarah sauntered towards the door, opening it.

“Lenny?” The horror in Sarah's voice caused Reil to leave the kitchen to check what was going on.

Lenny walked in, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Reil gasped when she took in Lenny's appearance.

The girl was filled with bruises on her face, her hair was flying in different directions, and she was limping.

“Lenny, what the heck happened to you?” Reil went to her side, wrapping a hand around her while Sarah wrapped a hand around her other side as they both directed her to the couch.

As soon as Lenny sat on the couch, they both took a seat at each of her sides.

“What happened?” Sarah asked and Lenny burst into more tears.

“Tom happened.”

Sarah gasped a little. “Did he beat you?”

“Who's Tom?” Reil asked.

“Her brother.” Sarah replied in a whisper.

“Your brother beat you up?” Reil asked in both anger and horror.

“No, Cassey did.” Lenny's gaze didn't leave her laps as her fingers fidgeted with one another.

“Cassey?” Now it was Sarah who asked.

“Yeah, Cassey's Tom's girlfriend,” she sighed before continuing, “first of all, she arrived with a child and I found that really suspicious as she'd never come to his house with a child before.”

“So, I went to eavesdrop on their conversation to know if the child was his, and I found out the child's name is Angle Mick.”

Reil's breath seized at that name. Zee's child name.

“I was surprised at first, but didn't want to give it much thought,” she continued, “then they continued and began talking about Drix, that was when I began placing pieces together.”

She rose her head to stare from Sarah to Reil then back to her fidgeting fingers.

Reil felt her breath seize and all her concentration was directed to what Lenny would say next.

“From my pieces, Tom and Cassey have been dating for a while and Cassey's also Zee,”

“I only figured this out while eavesdropping, that Tom is in a huge debt and apparently, she'd cheated on Tom with Drix five years back and got pregnant.

“Then, they weren't aware Drix was a billionaire, it was a one night stand. When she gave birth, they realized the child was Tom's.”

Sarah gasped.

“So as I continued listening to them, Cassey said something about suspecting Drix wasn't going to believe her fake DNA and was going to soon conduct one of his own so they wouldn't have a source of money anymore.

“And so she's on her way out now to give him sleeping pills and have sex with him so they can actually have a child together and she'd be able to demand a billion dollars from him.”

The color drained from Reil's face at the realization that Zee was heading to Drix's.

“I was going to send you a text, Sarah, but then the door opened and Cassey saw me.” She inhaled a sharp breath as though recalling a painful memory.

“I don't know how she knows you know Reil, but she told me not to let anyone know,” she sighed, “stupidly, I told her I would. Then, she began punching and slapping and pulling my hair.”

“Oh my.” Sarah said in a low tone.

“Obviously, I fought back, but she's way too stronger than me. Tom didn't do a thing and just stood there like a fool.” The anger in her tone was evident.

“And then as we were fighting, I slipped and fell off the stairs. I used that as a means of flight and ran as fast as I could till I got here.”

“Wait,” Sarah sat straight, “does that mean Zee is at Drix's house having sex?”

Reil rose to her feet immediately, grabbing her purse and her phone as she quickly dialed her driver's number.

She ordered him to come pick her up at that moment.

Five minutes later, he was at Sarah's house and she rushed in immediately, praying with all her might that Zee hadn't reached Drix's place.

She tried to convince herself that the guards wouldn't let her in without Drix's permission.

But that didn't even feel true. Zee obviously had a plan up her sleeve on how to get to his place.

“Shit.” She raked her hand through her hair. “Come on, drive faster, would you?”

Soon, the car was pulling in front of Drix's mansion.

She immediately got out of it.

It wasn't hard to get access to his house since he'd already given her access before.

She rushed into the house. The parlor was empty and her heart began throbbing at the realization that they might be in the room.

As soon as she rushed to his room, she found the door open and on the bed lay an obviously weak Drix with a naked Zee straddling him.

Her eyes widened at the sight of a naked Zee, and irritation filled her.

Her grip on her bag loosened and the bag fell down gaining the attention of the both of them.

The color in Drix's face drained and his eyes closed.

“Drix!” She ran to him, kneeling on the bed beside him.

Zee frowned at her, obviously annoyed that her plan hadn't worked out.

Staring at Drix, irritation and anger towards Zee filled Reil.

“You motherfucking bitch.” Her hand flew to Zee's full hair, grabbing a handful of it and pulling with all her might.

Zee let out a scream of agony as her hand flew to Reil's hair and pulled it. “Let me go you fucking asshole.”

Reil kicked her off Drix, but followed suit too since Zee didn't seem to want to leave her anytime.

The pain emitting from her scalp was what she'd check on later. At the moment, making Zee suffer was her main priority.

Zee's back landed on the floor and Reil straddled over her.

It was disgusting since Zee was still naked and sweaty so she was all slimy.

“What the fuck did you do to him?” She landed a punch on Zee's face, hoping it'd allow her to release her grip on her hair.

Zee let out an agonizing cry and she aimed for Reil's stomach.

Luckily, it registered to Reil that she was pregnant and immediately, her aim was to save the child so she rose to her feet with all her might, a part of her hair pulling out as Zee left her and she left Zee, so she was able to duck the punch.

As though hearing the fighting sound, two guards rushed in.

Zee rose to her feet, immediately grabbing the towel on the floor to wrap round her body.

“She needs to go to jail.” Reil ordered like the true woman of the house.

The guards sighted Drix laying on the bed, and not seeming to care how shaky Zee was at just being caught naked, they grabbed her and took her out.

“Oh Drix,” Reil suddenly felt guilty for everything that'd happened.

So Drix was innocent. Maybe she really should've listened to him.
