Kassia felt strange whenever she was alone.
What was going on with Ubers that day?
Every single one she booked kept cancelling . She was starting to feel her hands shake a bit.
It was late at night and very dark - she hadn't been out this late for a while. Especially not alone. Or since the incident with Javier.
She kept telling everyone that she was fine. She kept saying she was over what happened with Javier but, she trembled whenever she was alone.
Kassia tried keeping busy.
Hanging out with friends. Focusing on school. Swooning over Taemin.
But when she was alone like this, the memories rushed into her mind until it was all she could focus on. She even would start feeling the same anxiety and panic from back the moment Javier violated her space.
It felt like she was trapped in that moment.
She still felt the conflicting emotions.
Sad but also relieved that the worst of the worst didn't happen..
Ashamed and angry that her space was violated.
Sometimes, she even felt guilty. Guilty that she didn't fight enough. Guilty that she was ever in that position. Guilty that others around her were affected by her actions.
She'd bite her lip so hard it felt like it was going to bleed to forcefully take her mind off the memories/
The fact that Taemin was far away made her fear worse. Kassia missed San Francisco even more now.
She wasn't worried about anything back there.
Kassia was so worried that it would develop into a crippling fear and she wouldn't be able to fake it anymore.
Kassia would end up worrying everyone again.
"Hey! What the fuck are you doing again," a deep voice startled Kassia.
Kassia turned towards the voice spotting Ben and Omar. She had come to know Ben because he was always around Georgia. Omar was his friend.
Plus Ben had defended her that night. She was eternally thankful to him.
Ben and Omar, his friend were also extremely nice and kind. Omar made an impression on Kassia by being so funny.
"Are you slow," Omar questioned with a scowl. "Why the fuck can't you stop? Like what's so hard about leaving her alone?"
Kassia turned towards what they were looking at spotting Javier in dark clothes. She was frozen in place but, at this point, Ben and Omar stood protectively close to her.
She was so thankful they were here because just the sight of Javier- she could barely stand up straight. She felt like she was nearing a panic attack.
"Do I need permission to speak to her from you two-"
