Chapter 81

"And both doctors returned to their offices eager for the day to come to an end, so they could begin the rest of their lives."

The day was peaceful and both doctors managed to leave the hospital at normal time.

"Bambina, are you ready to go?"
"Totaly my love!"

Then they left hand in hand. At the supermarket they bought everything, filling 2 carts and a half of another. They left the Wall Mart straight to their house where they stored everything, already imagining what it would be like from the weekend onwards, when they would move in permanently.

They took the opportunity to make love in the pool once again, but after some overwhelming orgasms Danielle noticed that her girlfriend was a little  quiet...

"Baby?"
"Sì?"
"Are you okay?" The blonde asked caressing her lover's hair.
"Sure! Why are you asking, bambina?"
"Mmm, I don't know... you're way too silent today... did I hurt you, princess?"
"What? No! Of course not, bella! Don't worry amore mio. You were perfetta  (perfect) as always!" The hazel-eyed girl said honestly.
"So what is going on, my love?"
"Bambina... Just before we left the hospital today. They called me from the reception saying that there was a delivery for me..."
"Okay...?"
"No bella, you misunderstood me."

The blue-eyed girl was confused.

"I didn't buy or order anything! At first I thought it was a surprise from you, but when I got there, mrs Kildare told me it came from a young lady..."
"Young lady? This is really awkward. Did she tell you the woman's name?"
"That's the point, no, she didn't. She just said that the woman only said that this package was for me and that when I opened it, we would know whose the gift was from..."
"And did you open it, babe?"
"No. I'm so scared bambina."
"Scared? Of what, my love?"
"I don't know. I just... pensa con me, principessa... non conosco quasi nessuno qui. Chi potrebbe mandarmi qualcosa in regalo dicendi che appena l'avrei aperto avrei saputo da chi  proveniva?" (Think with me, princess. I don't know almost anyone here. Who could send me something as a gift, saying that I would know from who it came as soon as I opened it?)
"Yeah, that's true... and really weird too! Where is the package? Did you bring it with you, love?"
"No. I left it in the hospital.  In my locker, to be exact."
"Okay.  Can you think of anyone who might want to scare you, baby girl?"
"Well..."
"Baby, talk to me."
"This might have come from Catarina..."
"Shit! Really? Do you believe that this piece of shit might have sent you this?"
"I don't know, but think with me bambina. This beach appeared here out of nothing after a long time and you remember what happened. Why? And the same way she appeared, she just faded away..."
"Yeah... you might be right..."
"I swear bambina, I have no idea of what is going on! Please don't leave me..."
"Leave you? Are you crazy, baby? Why would I do that? Stefania,  I love you! And I'm gonna protect you at all cost!"
"I love you too, bella!"
"You know what? Let's call detetive Cruz."
"Now?"
"Right now! And Let's get dressed. I will ask him to meet us at the hospital.  We're gonna open this fucking package and find out if it was sent by this motherfucker. And if it came from her, I'm gonna find out her reasons to do that."

They took a quick shower together.  Danielle called detective Cruz and arranged to meet him at the hospital. On their way, the blonde tried to calm Stefania down.

"What does this pest want from me, bambina?" The brunette asked with teary eyes.
"Hey, calm down, princess. We're still not sure it's her, love."
"Ma tesoro (but treasure) it can only be her! I don't know how this woman found me here, and besides, that's another thing that won't leave my head, and like I said, I don't know almost anyone here in LA. Do you remember that day. That woman is crazy!" The italian was sobbing.

The ocean-eyed girl parked the car in the first place she found as soon as she heard the love of her life sobbing.

"Baby, stay calm. I recognize that you're right, this is all very weird indeed. But don't worry my love, I will find out what is going on. And I will protect you, baby! Whatever it takes!"
"I know you will bambina. I trust you blindly!"
"See? So you can calm down. I'm here, love! And I will never leave your side, ok?"
"Amore mio,  what does this woman still want from me? She already destroyed me once. Why does she want to destroy me again? What did I do to her?" The hazel-eyed girl was still sobbing.
"I don't know baby girl. But I will find it out, I promise! And when I discover it, this damn woman better be prepared to face my wrath! Because there will have consequences! No one messes with my woman!" The cardiologist was really furious. "Now come here, kiss me baby."

Stefania did what she was asked to do and immediately  calmed down.

"Are you calmer, my love?" The blonde asked in love.
"Sì."
"Great! Let's go then."

The couple arrived at the hospital together with detective Cruz.  They went straigh to Danielle's office and they told the police officer everything.

Cruz asked them to wait because he'd call a friend from the bomb squad.

"Wait. What?" Stefania asked really scared.
"Love, calm down."
"It's just to make a consultation, girls. For now it's just precaution." Cruz said.  "I need to know what this package is like, doctor Spampinato."

The brunette was really scared, but managed to describe the artefact.

"It's smal, about 15 centimeters at most. A cardboard box and it's very light. There doesn't even seem to have anything inside."
"Okay.  Did you shake the box, doctor?"
"I-I d-don't k-know. I-I d-don't think s-so... I mean, I-I tried to f-find a s-sender, but..."
"Hey, it's okay baby. We're gonna solve this, princess. " The blue-eyed girl said encoutaging her girlfriend,  but secretly,  equally scared.

So the police officer called his friend Herman, and explained the whole situation. The specialist said that the chances of it being a bomb were minimal, due to the lack of weight, but he offered to go to the hospital to see it.

While they waited, Danielle had an idea.

"I'm going to call my dad, he needs to know what is going on and I'm going to request the security camera images, so that we can try to identify this woman."
"Great idea!"
"Detective..."
"Yes?"
"Should we evacuate the huilding?" The blue-eyed girl asked holding her girlfriend's hand.
"No. At least not yet. Let's think it's unlikely that it's a bomb. Let's not make a fuss for now."
"Okay. "
"Ah, bambina,  I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to cause this mess..."
"Hey, don't you say that. This is not your fault, okay?"
"B-But..."
"Honey, listen to me. Stop it! This is not your fault!"
"Ok..."
"Now, let's call my dad, baby."

The cardiologist called Randy and told him everything.  The neurosurgeon, who was still in the hospital, ran to his daughter's room.

As soon as he arrived, the older Savre  went straight to talk to the doctors.

"Are you both okay? Are you hurt?"
"Yes dad, we're perfectly good. We're not hurt."
"Stef, my daughter, who gave you this package?"
"It was mrs Kildare,  from reception."
"Dad, I already asked for the security camera images."
"Right!"

Randy called Danielle in the corner and said:

"Take card of Stefania,  she seems to be very shaken."
"Yes dad, she's blaming herself nfor what happened."
"This is an absurd! She's not to blame for anything!"
"She thinks it could have been her ex fiancee, the one who came her a while ago, do you remember?"
"I do remember! But even if it was that despicable woman, that's not Stefania's fault! If that's the case, she's the victim here, because she's being chased by that crazy woman! Reassure her while I go and see what can I do to help." Randy said and left.

A few minutes later Herman arrived and they went to the obstetrician's locker together. Herman confirmed that it wasn't a bomb, which left everyone relieved.  So they took the package and went back to the cardiothoracic chief's office to open it.

When they got there, the italian asked someone to open it. Danielle immediately took the object and opened it, and what she found in the box surprised everyone.
