It was already ten in the night and Drix still hadn't woken up.
His doctor (who'd arrived minutes after Zee was taken to the station) had said he was going to be alright and that he'd just been given an extra dose of sleeping pills.
But she didn't find that comforting. Zee had added five pills to his juice. Five.
She'd been pacing round his room, eagerly waiting for him to wake up but he still hadn't.
When she told Ivy she wouldn't be able to go to the hospital, she'd been annoyed but later understood.
Reil sat on the bad beside him. As she stared at him, she realized she could never love a man more.
He was perfect and she really should've listened to him.
She began stroking his hair gently, a small part of her hoping that'd wake him up.
Like heeding to her request, his forehead wrinkled, and his eyes slowly opened.
She gasped a little, her hand leaving his hair as she stared at him open his eyes.
He stared around the room, then turned to her. “Reil?” He sounded like he thought she wasn't really there, then sighed, sitting up. “Is this a dream or what?”
Tears blurred her vision as she threw her arms around him. “Oh Drix, you're awake.”
He didn't hug her back, but she didn't care. All she wanted was to feel the warmth of his body.
“Is this seriously not a dream?” The surprise in his tone made her chuckle amidst all the tears flowing down her cheeks.
She pulled apart. “I'm so sorry for not believing you.”
“What's going on?” He stared around like he still wasn't sure if he was dreaming.
She let in as many details as she could on Zee at that moment.
He still looked shocked. “So… this is not a dream?”
She chuckled, wiping the tears from her face with her fingers. “I'm really sorry we had to pass through this means for me to forgive you.”
He wrapped a hand round her waist and the other on her neck then leaned closer to peck her lips. “This really isn't a dream?”
His lips met hers for a passionate, loving and breathtaking kiss as he stole all the breath from her and sent shivers of desire down her spine.
She let out a moan of pleasure, closing her eyes and deepening the kiss as her hands found their way to his hair.
He was exploring her mouth in different ways. His tongue doing wonders to it.
His hand moved to her hip while the one on her neck pulled her closer to him as his lips slowly moved from her mouth to her throat, kissing it passionately.
Her back landed on the bed and he straddled over her. “I've missed you.” He whispered to her neck, coating it with goosebumps.
He reached for her top, then released her off of it, leaving her in a singlet and pants.
“Drix.” His name came out as a moan when his hand slipped into her singlet, doing wonders to her breast.
“I've missed you.” He whispered again.
She'd missed him also. She'd missed sex with him. She'd missed everything about him.
But there was still something that needed to be clarified before they continued.
“Wait,” she whispered and even from her voice, it was obvious she wanted him to continue.
But he obliged and left her breast then sat beside her.
After gaining her composure, she rose to sit on the bed.
They were both silent for a while. “Please, tell me the truth about everything that happened between you and Zeekle.” She whispered, breaking the silence.
He nodded. “The thing is,” he stared down at her stomach before turning to hold her gaze, “about four weeks back, Zee gave me a call while at work.”
“She told me that five years back, while I was drunk we both had sex.” He continued, “of course I didn't believe her at first since I was certain I've never had sex before, so she sent me the video of us having sex.
“I remembered that day, meeting her and then that was all. I didn't have a memory of us having sex, or maybe I was just too drunk to remember, but we did.
“Then, she told me she'd had a son.” He let out a chortle, “that was the most shocking news I'd ever heard and I didn't want to believe her, but she sent me the DNA that said I was his father.”
“At the moment, I didn't even think about how she got my sample or to do my own test. And without thinking, I immediately sent her ten million dollars to never come to my life and I promised to sponsor all of Angle's education.”
He took her hand in his. “I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier.”
Gosh, even when he was sad, he still looked hot. “I'm sorry I didn't listen to you earlier, maybe all this wouldn't have happened.”
She leaned closer. “Why don't we never keep anything from each other? Let's ensure we tell each other everything.”
He pressed his lips against hers. “Deal.” His gaze shifted to her stomach. “Why don't we both head to the hospital tomorrow afternoon?”
“Why don't we do that?” She whispered, then leaned in to kiss him. “And we should also go to sleep, you're probably tired.”
He turned to the wall clock in his room. “Shit, it's ten thirty, you shouldn't be sleeping late.”
She snorted. “And whose fault is that?”
“I'm sorry, it's because of the sleeping pills Zee gave to me.” He shook his head as he took off his shirt. “What happened to her and her boyfriend?”
She took off her pants and knickers as he took off his. “The cops went to take them both and I'm sure they'll be jailed.”
He took off his underwear. “And Angle?”
She sighed a little, taking off her singlet. “Poor boy has no other family since Zee lives with some of her friends and is an orphan, so he either goes to the state or Lenny takes care of him.”
They both lay on the bed. Drix wrapped his arms around her and she buried her head in his chest.
“And does Lenny want to do it?” He asked in a low and soft tone.
“I'm not sure. I'll ask her tomorrow.” She whispered into his chest.
He left her to turn off the lights and before she could begin missing him, he was already wrapping her in his embrace.
“I love you Reil, and I hope we stay happy forever.” He whispered into her hair.
“Me too.”
