A small light flickered. I reached out and tried to grasp it. The small light seemed to move away from me. No, it actually was moving. I followed the light, watching as it floated along the sea of black, suffocating within it. The light seemed to be choked by its surroundings, slowly making it grow weaker and weaker. Then, a hand reached out and grasped it. A figure stood before me.

"You're here again?" I asked.

"I believe that should be obvious," he replied.

"I suppose so..."

"You still separate us?"

"..."

"That's not good, shouldn't you accept me?"

"..."

"Despite your vow, you're still weak. You are still bound."

"..."

"So my actions were justified, were they not?"

"..."

"In time, I believe we could have a very fulfilling cooperation."

"Why do you care so much?"

"Why? Isn't the answer obvious?"

The figure drew closer and whispered in my ear.

"Because I am you."

And so, the ever choking sea drowned us.

"—great idea, right?" Horikita asked.

"Sure," I replied.

"You weren't listening were you?"

"Yep."

Horikita heaved a sigh and muttered "useless."

Now, I am back at peace. At least, that was my hope.

"Ayanokoji!" Kushida's obnoxious voice rang out.

I glanced lazily at her, indicating that she had my "attention."

"Don't you think we remaining classmates should try and get closer?"

Why me? Of course, the answer logically made sense. Hirata was in no state to agree with anyone. Wang was too preoccupied with Hirata. Koenji would never listen to her. Yukimura has completely drowned himself in his studies. And Horikita...I don't think that needs much explanation. From her eyes I can tell how much Kushida hates Horikita.

"Well, good luck on that."

Kushida clearly didn't expect such a sharp denial from me. I guess some people never learn.

"But, I think when working together we could really accomplish something!" Kushida gave an "enthusiastic" smile.

"Can't you tell? It's over, we lost. We're never recovering from what happened."

My comments caused Horikita to glance at me. Kushida caught the glance immediately.

"Horikita, how about you? You seem interested in helping the class."
