"So you and Soobin are going on a date?" Gyu raised an eyebrow, stuffing himself with another portion of chips. He seemed to have forgotten that I was leaving in less than ten minutes, and that could only mean he had to leave too, because surprise, surprise, we didn't live together. However, from the way he sat down, I guessed that he definitely intended to spend the night here.
Especially since my parents weren't there, and even if they were present, they would encourage him to keep them company. They treated him like a second son, which used to bother me, but now I was happy about it because my mother didn't just tell me all this nonsense about safe sex, but also told him.
"Mhm. He finally got around to doing it after a week, and if you had only seen the look on his face when I agreed... He looked like a kid who got an early Christmas present." I smiled at the memory and Beomgyu rolled his eyes, feigning gag.
"Yuck!"
"You act like you haven't been pestering me for the last week about how big a bouquet of flowers Taehyun gave you and how great it was to do all those things with him again, this time as a couple and not friends with benefits. Not to mention the fact that you bombarded me with so many facts about your sex that I still have nightmares." I flinched dramatically, making a disgusted face. "It's strange that you didn't decide to write another book a la Kamasutra, you definitely have the experience needed for it, and there would be people willing to read it, considering how many idiots there are in the world now."
"Would you believe me if I told you that we've already talked about this? We even have a beginning, but as soon as we start writing, the mood is right to do something else. If you know what I mean."
"I know and no, I don't want to hear about it again. You've traumatized me enough."
"I don't see you going to a specialist, so a few more times won't hurt you." Gyu smiled and I rolled my eyes. I looked in the mirror one last time and made sure everything was as it should be. Soobin didn't say where he planned to take me. He just indicated that I should dress casually, so I put aside the suit and opted for black pants that emphasized my butt and thighs, and a plain white T-shirt with a large V-neck.
I combed my hair more neatly than usual, exposing my forehead, my best friend applied some delicate make-up, which I covered a little with glasses, which at the last moment I realized that they really matched the whole look. According to Gyu, I looked sexy and like I hadn't tried at all, and since that was the effect I was going for, I threw myself on the bed next to him, having ten minutes before Soobin would show up.
"Are you stressed?"
"Why would I? It's just Soobin. I may not have gone on a date with him yet, but we've done so many embarrassing things around each other that even if something goes wrong, he probably won't care."
"That's right. Regardless, we both started off on the wrong side with our men. Normal people date first, then kiss and do other naughty things. Not to mention they don't go out pretend Ing that they were dating to get rid of a few nosy people."
"Were we ever normal?" Gyu didn't have time to answer because there was a loud knock on the door. I looked at my watch and smiled, noticing that Soobin had arrived five minutes early. I hated it when people were late, so that was a huge plus for me. Even though I assured my friend that I could handle it, he insisted on walking me to the door.
And maybe it's a good thing, because when I opened the door and saw my not-yet-boyfriend, it took my breath away. My legs also buckled slightly under me, but I managed to stand, and that's lucky, otherwise I would have sunk to the ground. I've seen Soobin wearing this look several times, but I swear he's never looked as sexy as he does today. Maybe because I knew he was dressing especially for me today?
"Hi. This is for you." He smiled charmingly, showing off his dimples, and my heart beat so fast that I would definitely need to see a cardiologist after all this. When I made no move to take over the bouquet of sunflowers, Gyu did it for me.
"I'll put it in a vase."
"Hi. And thank you." I finally replied stiffly, feeling awkward myself as soon as I brought the words to the surface. A sly smile appeared on my friend's face, which he didn't even try to hide.
"Yeonjun has to come home safe no later than 10 p.m. He's at least a minute late, I'm calling the police. He may not cross the threshold on his own, but then you have to help him, after all, it will be your fault if he won't be able to walk."
"Beomgyu!" I screamed and tried to punch him hard in the arm, but he jumped back, expecting it. My whole face was burning and I was sure it was beet red.
"I promise we won't be late. And don't worry, I'll help him." Soobin winked, not the least bit embarrassed. I huffed, crossed my arms and walked outside, locking myself in the front seat of my not-yet-boyfriend's car. Soobin and Gyu stood in the doorway for a while, talking about something, but eventually the taller man said goodbye and joined me. Even though I pretended to be angry at him, as soon as he grabbed my hand, I couldn't help but smile a little. "Hi."
"Hi." I replied in a whisper, just like him, even though we were completely alone. We just looked at each other for a long time, until Soobin started the car and drove away, never separating our intertwined hands.
