"Good morning, fiancée" Charlotte whispered into the ear of a sleeping Mia, placing a soft kiss to her temple and lazily draping her arm around her waist. Mia stirred awake sporting a smile, turning over to face her sweetheart.
"Morning, baby" the redhead said softly as she planted a firm kiss on her fiancée's lips, the two of them smiling into it as they embraced their new relationship status. "How are you feeling?" Charlotte looked puzzled at Mia's question, thinking it was a bit vague. How was she feeling in response to what? She wondered. Mia, always picking up on Char's facial expressions and body language, saw that she needed to be more specific and elaborated. "About last night. Not having doubts are you?" The redhead questioned quietly as she doubted herself.

She never felt that she was deserving of Charlotte's love, and was feeling insecure about her sweetheart's certainty. Mia simply couldn't fathom that someone loved her enough to say "I do." That someone loved her for who she truly was, including her dark and twisted past. Even though she had once caused Charlotte so much pain when she regretfully kissed another woman, and then almost drank herself to death. Mia just refused to accept her own happiness, seeing it as a privilege that she wasn't entitled to.

"Mia, what will it take for you to believe that I truly do want to marry you, hm?" Charlotte tried to reassure the redhead as she brushed a lingering lock of hair out of her face. "I wish you'd let yourself be happy." Mia let her thoughts drift a bit as she took in Charlotte's comforting touch and meaningful words, staring into space as she did. Noticing how far away her girlfriend appeared to be, Charlotte reached up and placed a soft kiss to her jawline, brining the redhead back to earth.

"Char, I couldn't be happier, and I want nothing more than to call you my wife" Mia finally declared, her voice soft and sincere. She exhaled sounding defeated and looked down, avoiding Charlotte's gaze out of embarrassment as her voice reduced to a whisper. "I've ruined this precious moment for us, haven't I?"

"Amelia, listen to me, okay? Your insecurities are valid. You've endured so much pain and suffering in your past, that it's only natural for you to doubt yourself, and I sometimes wish that we had found each other sooner so that I could've saved you from some of that pain...but you know what?" Charlotte paused, slowly lifting Mia's head by her chin to look her in the eye. "The scars from your past, are what make you the person you are today. The person that I love so dearly. You are the strongest woman I know, Amelia, and I look up to you every single day. And I hope that one day my girls grow up to be as strong as you, and as caring, protective and loving. Because they look up to you too." Mia's eyes watered listening to Charlotte's heartfelt speech.

The redhead didn't realise she needed to hear it, but it was more reassurance than she could ever have wished for, and it was soothing to her soul knowing that she meant so much to her sweetheart and the girls. Charlotte was repairing something inside of Mia that she didn't break herself, and Mia would forever be grateful. Charlotte pulled her fiancée in for a searing kiss as she caressed her cheek, savouring this significant fragment in time. "Do you think that maybe we can enjoy being engaged now?" The brunette smiled letting a little giggle escape her as she wiped a tear from under the redhead's eye, hoping that Mia now felt a little lighter and unburdened of her doubts.

The two fiancée's linked their hands on the bed and exchanged a loving gaze before Mia swiftly pushed Charlotte onto her back, rolling on top of her as she planted small kisses across her face. "Ouch" Charlotte hissed slightly in pain, prompting Mia to pull back displaying a look of concern. "My nipples are still sore from last night" Char reluctantly confessed, not wanting Mia to stop showering her with kisses. Mia smirked in amusement and adjusted her position so ease Charlotte's pain. "Sorry, baby" she said, taking responsibility as they both broke out in flush and laughter, last night's antics replaying in their heads.
