UNDERCOVER PART 25

MIKHA'S POV


We're at the park with the other girls. They were running around and playing like it was their first time out here. Meanwhile, Aiah, Yves, and I were just relaxing on a bench, watching them enjoy themselves.



I turned and looked at Aiah and I found myself staring at her, taking in every detail of her face.



 "You love me naman, 'di ba?" I asked while smiling. She looked pretty flustered by the sudden question I'd thrown at her.



 "What kind of question is that, Ms. Mikhayla Jann Lim?" she asked, trying hard not to smile.



 "It's just a yes or no, Aiah," I said firmly, not breaking eye contact.



 "You already know the answer, love," she replied with a big smile, her eyes almost disappearing.

"Sus, nagsisimula na naman sila," Yves muttered.

"Shut up, Yves. Lagi ka na lang panira sa moment namin," I shot back, furrowing my eyebrows.

Just then, my phone buzzed. I looked down and saw a tweet from West.

I smiled as I read her tweet and the caption she had posted.

"Babi, look at West's post," I chuckled, showing her my phone.

"Eme mo din, Mikhs. Tuwang-tuwa ka naman," Yves responded

"Tuwang-tuwa ka naman, Mikha. Tss," Yves said with a smirk.

"Ewan ko sa'yo, Yves," I chuckled in response.

As I said that, my phone started ringing. I quickly checked and saw it was a call from Dad. I answered it right away.

"Dad?" I asked.

"Come to my office now," he said firmly on the other end.

"But, I'm—" I started to explain, but he cut me off.

"No buts. Get here immediately," he instructed before disconnecting the call.

After slipping my phone back into my pocket, I hurried back.

"What happened, love? Bakit nakasimangot ka?" Aiah asked, concern in her voice.

"I need to go, babi... Pinapapunta ako ni Dad sa office niya," I explained.

I saw her expression falter for a moment, but she quickly masked it with a smile and nodded.

"I promise I'll come see you right after I'm done, okay?" I said.

"It's fine, love. 'Wag ka mag-alala," she reassured me.

I gave her a reassuring smile before making my way quickly to the parking lot.

I started my car's engine and drove straight to my dad's office. Fortunately, the park is only about a 20-minute drive away.



After nearly 20 minutes, I arrived at the office building and headed straight for Dad's office. As I walked in, I saw Dad and nakita ko na nandito rin si Mr. Lee



"You're here na pala, Mikha," Dad said as soon as he noticed me.



I nodded at him and also acknowledged Mr. Lee with a brief nod.



We hadn't been able to execute our mission yet because Mr. Lee had been in the US for business.



I had also been distracted by spending time with Aiah, which I enjoyed, and I had a deal with Aiah's dad that my dad didn't know about.



"I've decided kung ano ang gusto kong mangyari," Mr. Lee said.



"It's up to you, Mikha, kung magagawa mo 'to or hindi. If you can't, I have someone else who can do it. I just need this club's protection para walang maghabol ng hustisya," he stated.



"But if you'll vouch na magagawa mo 'to, then much better. I'll also promise na mas tutulungan ko ang kompanya niyo para mas mapalaki pa 'to. Otherwise, if you can't, ako mismo gagawa ng paraan para mapabagsak kayo. Or...pwede ko 'ring iexpose tong club na 'to" he smirked



"You can't threaten us like that, Mr. Lee. We've welcomed you here," Dad replied, clearly upset.



"Yes, you welcomed me kasi kailangan niyo ng new member para dumagdag ang investors niyo at maisalba ang pabagsak niyong negosyo. Am I wrong?" Mr. Lee added.



"I'll do it," I said firmly, cutting off the escalating argument between Dad and Mr. Lee.



"Good," Mr. Lee responded briefly.



"What do I need to do?" I asked.



"I want you to kill Mr. Arceta's only daughter," he said without hesitation



Upon hearing those words, I suddenly felt my knees weaken, and a sharp pain shot through my heart. It was as if the reality of the situation was too much to grasp. How could I possibly do that? How could I bring myself to harm the person I love the most? My tears were on the verge of spilling, but I summoned every ounce of courage to hold them back. I couldn't let Dad find out that Aiah is my girlfriend.

"Mikha, are you listening?!" My dad's voice snapped me back to reality.



"I need you to execute that plan as soon as possible, Mikha. He killed my daughter, and I want him to feel the pain of losing someone he loved," Mr. Lee said firmly.



"I could plan revenge against him if I wanted, but no, I want him to suffer even more. I want to take away his happiness," he added.



I was at a loss for words, unable to find a response.



"I'll give you until the end of this week, Ms. Mikha Lim," Mr. Lee concluded.



Overwhelmed, I simply nodded and made my way back to where my car was parked. As soon as I got inside, I couldn't hold it anymore—I began to cry. I had thought that protecting Aiah's dad was the key to keeping Aiah safe, but I was wrong. I know that I'll come to the point na kailangan ko 'ring protektahan si Aiah but how can I protect her against myself?



"Fuck. Tanginang buhay mo 'to, Mikha Lim," I muttered to myself in frustration.



Parang bumalik lahat ng sacrifices ko for my family, for my dad especially...I remembered na nakidnap din ako dahil sa kaaway ni Dad sa negosyo. I couln't help myself but cry even more.



I needed Aiah more than ever, I even fucking need her right now, but how can I think of coming back to her if alam ko sa sarili kong it's not the right thing to do.



I need to be more firm with my decision, I need to protect Aiah, but how?
