The next morning, the tension in the air was palpable. Namjoon and Y/N woke up early, unable to sleep in with the anticipation of the day ahead. They tried to keep things as normal as possible, having a simple breakfast together—toast, eggs, and coffee—exchanging small talk, but their minds were both on the impending release of the statement.
After breakfast, they moved to the living room, sitting together on the couch with their phones close by, waiting for the clock to hit the hour when the statement was set to be released. Namjoon had his arm around Y/N, holding her close as they watched the time inch forward.
"Are you nervous?" Namjoon asked softly, his thumb brushing over her shoulder.
Y/N nodded, letting out a shaky breath. "A little. I just hope people will be understanding."
Namjoon pressed a kiss to her temple. "They will be. Our fans have always supported us, even when things get tough."
The minutes ticked by slowly, each second feeling like an eternity. Finally, at precisely 10 a.m., their phones buzzed with notifications. The statement had been released.
Namjoon opened the statement on his phone, and Y/N leaned in close to read along with him. The words were clear and straightforward, just as they had agreed. It spoke about their relationship, how they had decided to share it with the public, and asked for their fans' continued support and respect for their privacy.

As Namjoon finished reading, Y/N let out a slow breath, leaning her head on his shoulder. "It sounds good… really good," she said softly, feeling a little lighter now that it was out in the open.
Namjoon kissed the top of her head. "Yeah, it does. Now let’s see how people are reacting."
They opened their social media apps, scrolling through the flood of responses from fans. The initial reaction was, as expected, a mix of surprise, excitement, and a bit of chaos. Comments were pouring in rapidly, and hashtags related to their names were trending worldwide.
Y/N’s eyes widened as she saw the sheer volume of messages. "Wow… it’s really happening."
Namjoon chuckled softly. "Let’s read some of them."
They started scrolling through the comments, reading aloud some of the more memorable ones. Namjoon read one with a smile: "‘I can’t believe it! Namjoon and Y/N are together! This is the best news ever! They’re so perfect for each other!’"
Y/N giggled and found another: "‘I knew it! I always thought they had great chemistry! I’m so happy for them!’"
Namjoon’s expression softened as he read a particularly touching comment: "‘As long as they’re happy, I’ll support them. They deserve all the love in the world.’"
Y/N felt tears pricking at her eyes as she listened to the supportive words from their fans. She knew there would be some who might not take the news well, but seeing the overwhelming positivity was more than she could have hoped for.
Namjoon turned to her, seeing the emotion in her eyes. "They really care about us, Y/N. They want us to be happy."
She nodded, wiping away a tear that had escaped. "I’m so grateful… I was so worried, but they’re being so kind."
Namjoon pulled her into a tight hug, his voice gentle. "We’re going to be okay. We’ve got each other, and we’ve got their support. That’s all we need."
They continued to read through the comments, both touched by the outpouring of love and support. It was a chaotic morning, but the positive reactions from their fans made it all worthwhile.
As the initial wave of reactions began to settle, they leaned back on the couch, feeling a sense of relief wash over them. The hardest part was over, and they had come out of it stronger, both as a couple and in the eyes of the public.
