After what felt like an eternity of tense conversation and careful planning, the managers finally left, their expressions still a mix of concern and determination. Namjoon and Y/N stood by the door, watching them go, and when the door finally clicked shut, they both let out a collective sigh of relief. The weight of the day’s events hung heavily in the air, but at the same time, there was a sense of accomplishment in having taken the first big step. They had done what needed to be done, and now, all they could do was hope for the best.
Namjoon turned to Y/N, his eyes softening as he saw the weariness etched on her face. "You okay?" he asked gently, reaching out to pull her into his arms.
Y/N nodded, leaning into his embrace. "Yeah," she murmured, her voice tinged with exhaustion. "I’m just glad that part is over. I was so nervous about telling them."
"You did great," Namjoon reassured her, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. "We did what we had to do. Now, we just have to trust that everything will work out."
Y/N sighed softly, feeling the tension slowly begin to ebb away as she melted into his warmth. "I hope so. I just want everything to be okay—for us and for the baby."
Namjoon tightened his hold on her, his heart swelling with love and protectiveness. "It will be," he promised, his voice firm. "No matter what, we’ll make sure it is."
After a few more moments of holding each other, they both realized how tired they were. The day had been emotionally and physically draining, and all they wanted now was to rest and be close to each other.
"Let’s get ready for bed," Namjoon suggested softly, brushing a tender kiss against her temple.
Y/N nodded in agreement, and they moved in sync, heading to the bedroom to change into their comfortable clothes. As they got into bed, the familiar comfort of the sheets and the warmth of each other’s presence began to ease the remaining tension.
Namjoon pulled Y/N close, their bodies fitting together perfectly as they settled beneath the covers. He could feel her heartbeat slowly calming, matching the rhythm of his own as they lay there in the quiet of the night.
For a while, they didn’t speak, just savoring the closeness and the feeling of being together after such a long, emotionally charged day. But eventually, Namjoon broke the silence, his voice soft and thoughtful.
"You know, I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s going to happen next," he said, his fingers gently tracing patterns on her arm. "I just hope the companies understand. We’re doing the best we can, and we’re going to be responsible. I really hope they don’t make this difficult for us."
Y/N shifted slightly, looking up at him with a small, reassuring smile. "I hope so too. But no matter what happens, we’ll get through it together. We’ve already faced so much, and we’ll handle whatever comes our way."
Namjoon nodded, his heart swelling with pride at her strength. "You’re right. We’ll take it one step at a time, and we’ll figure it out. As long as we’re together, we can handle anything."
Y/N smiled, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "I love you, Joon," she whispered, her voice full of warmth and sincerity.
"I love you too, Y/N," Namjoon replied, his voice just as tender. He leaned down to press a soft kiss to her lips, sealing his promise to stand by her no matter what.
They held each other close, their breaths slowly syncing as they began to drift off to sleep. The future was still uncertain, but in that moment, they found comfort in each other’s presence, knowing that together, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead.
As they both slipped into a peaceful slumber, their hearts were full of hope and love, trusting that the next day would bring them one step closer to the future they were building together.
