The evening light cast a warm glow over Y/N's apartment as she waited for Namjoon to arrive. The scent of freshly cooked food filled the air, and the table was set with care, everything in its place. Despite the calm setting, her heart pounded in her chest, the small box she had hidden away in her bedroom weighing heavily on her mind.

A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts. She took a deep breath, smoothing her hands over her clothes before walking to the door. When she opened it, there stood Namjoon, his familiar smile instantly soothing her nerves. He stepped inside, closing the door behind him, and without a word, he pulled her into his arms. His embrace was warm and secure, his lips finding hers in a tender kiss that made her forget, if only for a moment, the secret she was holding.

When they finally pulled apart, Namjoon looked down at her, his eyes full of affection. "I've missed you," he murmured, his voice a low rumble that sent shivers down her spine.

"I've missed you too," she replied, her voice soft, almost shy.

Together, they walked to the living room where the table was already set. Y/N had gone all out, preparing Namjoon's favorite dishes, wanting everything to be perfect. Namjoon, ever thoughtful, had brought something as well—a bag filled with pastries from their favorite bakery. He placed them on the table, smiling at her efforts. "You really didn’t have to do all this," he said, though she could tell he was touched.

"I wanted to," she replied, her smile not quite reaching her eyes.

They sat down to eat, and for a while, everything felt normal, like any other evening they had spent together. But as the meal progressed, Namjoon couldn’t help but notice that something was off. Y/N was quieter than usual, her eyes occasionally flickering with an unease she couldn’t quite hide. He didn’t push, though. He knew her well enough to recognize when she needed time to gather her thoughts.

After they finished eating, Namjoon helped her clear the table. It was a quiet, comfortable routine, one they had fallen into over the past year. Once the dishes were done, they moved to the couch, Y/N curling up beside him as they settled in. Namjoon draped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her close, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was on her mind.

"Is everything okay?" he finally asked, his voice gentle, not wanting to pressure her but needing to know what was bothering her.

For a moment, Y/N didn’t answer. She simply stared ahead, her fingers playing with the hem of her shirt. Then, without a word, she stood up and walked out of the room, leaving Namjoon sitting there, puzzled and a little worried. He waited, listening as she moved around in the bedroom, his mind racing with possibilities. When she returned, she was holding a small box, her expression unreadable as she handed it to him.

Namjoon took the box, his brow furrowing in confusion as he looked at it. "What’s this?" he asked, but Y/N just shook her head, urging him silently to open it.

With a mix of curiosity and concern, Namjoon lifted the lid. Inside, nestled in a bed of soft tissue, was the pregnancy test, the same two pink lines that had changed Y/N's world only hours before.

He stared at it, his mind taking a moment to process what he was seeing. Then, slowly, he looked up at her, his eyes wide with disbelief. "Is this... is this real?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Y/N nodded, her eyes shining with a mix of fear and hope.

For a moment, Namjoon just sat there, stunned. Then, as the reality of what she was telling him sank in, his face broke into a wide, disbelieving grin. "We're going to have a baby?" he asked, the words almost too incredible to believe.

When Y/N nodded again, his emotions finally got the better of him. He surged to his feet, pulling her into his arms with a joy so overwhelming it brought tears to his eyes. "We're going to have a baby," he repeated, his voice thick with emotion. He hugged her tightly, his heart swelling with a love he didn’t even know he was capable of.

They stayed like that for a long time, wrapped in each other’s arms, the enormity of what they were about to embark on sinking in. It wasn’t just the two of them anymore; they were going to be a family. And in that moment, all of Namjoon's fears and uncertainties melted away, leaving only the pure, unadulterated happiness of knowing that the love of his life was carrying his child.
