Y/N arrived home after the interview, feeling a mixture of relief and exhaustion. The day had been long, but overall, she was pleased with how everything had gone. As she stepped inside her apartment, the familiar warmth of home instantly put her at ease. She slipped off her shoes and made her way toward the living room, where she knew she would find Namjoon.Sure enough, there he was, sitting at the coffee table with his laptop and some scattered papers. He was deeply focused on his work, headphones on as he listened to a new track he was developing. The sight of him, so engrossed in his music, brought a soft smile to Y/N's face. This was the man she loved, and she couldn’t wait to share the details of her day with him.
Sensing her presence, Namjoon looked up from his screen and immediately broke into a wide smile. He took off his headphones and stood up, walking over to her with that familiar, loving look in his eyes. Without saying a word, he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her into a warm embrace, pressing a gentle kiss to her lips.
"Welcome home," Namjoon murmured against her lips, his voice full of affection. He pulled back just enough to look at her, his hands still resting on her waist. "How did it go? How was the interview?"
Y/N sighed contentedly, leaning into his embrace. "It went really well, actually. They asked all the usual questions about my projects, but of course, there were a few about us too."
Namjoon’s expression softened as he looked at her. "And how did you feel about that? Were they respectful?"
"Yeah, they were," Y/N replied, nodding. "The interviewer was really nice, and she didn’t push too hard. I think I managed to answer everything without giving too much away. I’m just glad it’s over now."
Namjoon chuckled, leaning in to kiss her forehead. "I’m proud of you. I know how tough it can be to navigate those kinds of questions. But you handled it perfectly, as always."
Y/N smiled, feeling a sense of pride at his words. "Thanks, Joon. I couldn’t have done it without your support. It makes everything so much easier knowing you’re here for me."
Namjoon’s eyes softened even further as he pulled her closer, their foreheads resting against each other. "I’ll always be here for you, Y/N. We’re in this together, no matter what."
For a moment, they stood there in the living room, simply holding each other and finding comfort in the connection they shared. After the whirlwind of the day, being in Namjoon’s arms was exactly what Y/N needed to unwind and feel grounded.
Eventually, Namjoon pulled back slightly, his gaze filled with curiosity. "So, what’s next on your agenda? Do you have any plans for the rest of the day, or can we just relax together?"
Y/N chuckled softly, appreciating his thoughtfulness. "Honestly, I was thinking about just staying in and relaxing. Maybe we can watch a movie or just hang out here. I could use a quiet evening after today."
Namjoon smiled at the suggestion. "That sounds perfect. How about I make us something to eat first? You’ve had a long day, and I want to make sure you’re taken care of."
Y/N’s heart swelled with affection as she nodded. "That sounds wonderful. Thank you, Joon."
As Namjoon headed to the kitchen to prepare a meal for them, Y/N settled onto the couch, finally able to unwind after a busy day. The weight of the interview began to lift, replaced by the comfort of being home with Namjoon. She knew that no matter what challenges came their way, they would always have each other to rely on.
And that, more than anything, made her feel truly at peace.
