It was late in the evening, and Namjoon and Y/N were cozily settled on the couch, their apartment quiet and peaceful. They had just finished watching a movie, and Y/N was resting her head on Namjoon’s shoulder, feeling content and at ease. But as the credits rolled, a sudden craving hit her—a dish she hadn’t thought about in months, something comforting and familiar from her childhood.Y/N shifted slightly, her thoughts now occupied by this craving. She bit her lip, unsure if she should mention it to Namjoon. The dish she was thinking of wasn’t something easily found, especially at this hour. It was a traditional dish from her hometown, and while Seoul had many options, this particular one wasn’t common.
Namjoon noticed the change in her demeanor and looked down at her with concern. “What’s on your mind, love? You seem distracted.”
She hesitated for a moment, not wanting to burden him with her sudden craving, especially since she knew it might be difficult to find. “It’s nothing, really,” she finally said, trying to brush it off. “Just a silly craving.”
Namjoon smiled softly, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. “Tell me, Y/N. You know I’ll do anything to make you happy.”
His gentle encouragement made her feel a bit more at ease. “Well,” she began, “I just suddenly really want this dish from my hometown. It’s something my mom used to make when I was little, and I haven’t had it in years.”
Namjoon’s eyes softened as he listened. “What’s the dish?”
“It’s a type of stew,” she explained. “But the ingredients are pretty specific, and I don’t think it’s something we can just order or find quickly. I feel bad even asking…”
Namjoon chuckled, leaning in to kiss her forehead. “You don’t have to feel bad, Y/N. If it’s something you want, especially right now, I’ll do my best to get it for you.”
“But it’s late,” she protested gently. “And I know it might be impossible to find…”
He shook his head, determination in his eyes. “Nothing’s impossible. Give me a few minutes.”
Before Y/N could stop him, Namjoon was already on his feet, grabbing his phone and heading toward the kitchen. She watched him with a mix of admiration and worry, knowing how much he cared for her but also not wanting to inconvenience him.
In the kitchen, Namjoon was busy making calls, speaking quickly and quietly as he tried to track down a place that could make the dish Y/N was craving. After a few attempts, he finally found a small restaurant that specialized in traditional dishes from various regions of Korea. The owner, who answered the call personally, recognized the dish immediately and assured Namjoon that they could prepare it, even though it would take a bit of time.
Namjoon returned to the living room with a triumphant smile. “It’s all set,” he announced, sitting back down beside her. “They’re making it fresh, but it might take an hour or so. Is that okay?”
Y/N’s eyes widened in surprise and gratitude. “Namjoon, you didn’t have to go through all that trouble…”
“It’s no trouble at all,” he replied, taking her hand in his. “Anything for you and our little one.”
She smiled, feeling tears prickling at the corners of her eyes. “You’re amazing, you know that?”
He grinned, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. “I’m just doing my job as your boyfriend and future dad. Besides, I love seeing you happy.”
They spent the next hour chatting and laughing, the anticipation of the meal building as they waited. When the delivery finally arrived, Namjoon set the table, making sure everything was perfect. The aroma of the stew filled the apartment, and Y/N’s mouth watered as she took in the familiar scent.
“This smells incredible,” she said, her eyes shining with happiness.
Namjoon served her a bowl, watching as she took her first bite. The moment the flavors hit her tongue, she felt a rush of nostalgia and comfort, the taste bringing back memories of her childhood. She closed her eyes, savoring the moment.
“This is exactly how I remember it,” she said softly, opening her eyes to look at Namjoon. “Thank you so much.”
He leaned over to kiss her cheek, pleased to see her so content. “I’m glad it’s just what you wanted.”
They ate together, enjoying the warm, comforting meal and the quiet intimacy of the evening. Y/N felt a deep sense of love and appreciation for Namjoon, knowing that he would go to any lengths to make her happy. As they finished their meal, she leaned back in her chair, her heart full.
“You’re going to be the best dad,” she said, reaching out to take his hand again.
Namjoon smiled, his eyes full of love. “And you’re going to be the best mom. We’re in this together, every step of the way.”
With their hearts full and their bellies warm, they cleaned up and headed to bed, feeling even closer than before. As Y/N drifted off to sleep that night, she felt an overwhelming sense of peace, knowing that no matter what cravings or challenges came their way, Namjoon would always be there, supporting her with all the love in his heart.
