After the initial rush of emotions, Namjoon slowly loosened his hold on Y/N, his hands still resting on her arms as he gazed at her, eyes filled with a blend of awe and concern. He guided her back to the couch, gently pulling her down beside him. Even as they sat, he kept one arm around her, holding her close as if afraid to let go.
"How did you find out?" he asked softly, his voice laced with both curiosity and worry. "Are you feeling okay? Is everything... okay?"
Y/N smiled, touched by the concern in his voice. "I'm okay," she reassured him, resting her hand on his, feeling the warmth of his skin beneath hers. "I've been feeling a bit off for a few days-tired, a little nauseous. At first, I thought it was just stress, but then... I realized I was late." She glanced down, her fingers tracing absent patterns on his hand. "So, I decided to take the test this morning. I didn't really expect it to be positive, but when I saw those lines... I couldn't believe it."
Namjoon listened intently, his eyes never leaving her face. He could hear the mixture of emotions in her voice-the surprise, the uncertainty, the joy. He squeezed her hand gently, trying to offer her the comfort and strength she needed.
"I was so nervous about telling you," she continued, her voice growing quieter. "I wasn't sure how you would react... if you were ready for this."
Namjoon's heart ached at the thought of her worrying alone. He cupped her cheek, tilting her face up so he could look into her eyes. "I'm sorry you felt that way," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "But Y/N, I'm so happy. I can't even put it into words. I've never felt like this before."
Her eyes softened as she saw the sincerity in his gaze, and she leaned into his touch, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. "I'm happy too," she whispered, her voice trembling slightly. "But I'm also scared. This changes everything."
Namjoon nodded, understanding the weight of her words. "It does," he agreed, his tone serious. "But we'll figure it out together. We always do." He paused, his mind racing with thoughts of the future. "Have you seen a doctor yet? Do you know how far along you are?"
"Not yet," Y/N admitted. "I wanted to tell you first. I was thinking we could go together."
A smile tugged at Namjoon's lips at the thought of being there with her for every step of this journey. "I'd love that," he said, his heart swelling with love for the woman beside him. "I want to be with you through all of this, every step of the way."
They sat in silence for a moment, the gravity of the situation settling in around them. Namjoon's thoughts were a whirlwind of excitement and concern-there was so much to consider, so much to plan for. But above all, there was an overwhelming sense of gratitude, a deep, abiding love for the woman who had given him this incredible gift.
"What about your career?" Namjoon asked gently, knowing how much Y/N's work meant to her. "Are you worried about how this will affect things?"
Y/N nodded slowly, the question one she had been grappling with since she saw the positive test. "A little," she admitted. "I'm at a really good place right now, and I don't want to lose that momentum. But... this baby is more important to me. We'll figure out a way to make it work, right?"
"Of course we will," Namjoon assured her, squeezing her hand again. "You're not alone in this. We'll make whatever decisions are best for you, for the baby, for our family."
Our family. The words sent a warm, comforting thrill through Y/N, a reminder that they were in this together. She leaned her head on his shoulder, feeling the steady rise and fall of his breathing beneath her cheek.
"What about you?" she asked softly. "You're so busy, always traveling and working. How are we going to manage everything?"
Namjoon pressed a kiss to the top of her head, his lips lingering there as he thought. "It won't be easy," he admitted, "but I'll do whatever it takes. We'll find a balance. I want to be there for you, for our child. That's what matters most to me."
Y/N closed her eyes, letting his words wrap around her like a warm blanket. She knew the road ahead wouldn't be simple, but sitting there with Namjoon, feeling his love and support, she believed they could handle anything that came their way. Together, they would navigate this new chapter of their lives, one step at a time.
