“Hey Ivy, where's dad?” She asked as soon as she walked into the garden of Sean's house where she was sure to find Ivy.

Ivy pivoted, a smile appearing on her lips, as she removed the cup of what Reil assumed to be tea, from her mouth.

“Reil, what brings you here?” She asked, walking towards where Reil stood.

“Just wanted to have a few words with dad, but from what I heard from the maids, he isn't in.” She explained, not that it was important.

“Yeah, he went golfing with some colleagues.” She shrugged. “I guess he wants to spend some more time with his friends than family.”

“I'm sure that isn't true.”

“Why don't we have a seat.” Ivy gestured to the chairs beside them which they walked to, taking a seat on it.

“So…” Ivy started, “how's work treating you? It's a new experience so it must be tough.”

“Yeah, it is tough but we survive, don't we?”

“Tea?” She stretched forth the cup, but Reil shook her head.

“Nah, I'm good.”

Her phone began vibrating. She checked who was calling and let out a small sigh when she saw it was Sarah.

She wasn't supposed to talk to her that day. It was her day off after she'd signed the contract the day before.

She turned to Ivy who was staring at some birds in the sky.

“Excuse me, I've got to take this call.” She stood up, walking to the end of the garden, when Ivy nodded.

Answering the call, she started. “Hello.”

“Hey, uh— do you mind sparing time from your day off for work?” She sounded like there was something important going on.

“Why? Is there a problem?” Reil furrowed her brows, not like she could be seen.

“Um— I wouldn't call it a problem, more like a work-filled emergency and apparently your presence is needed and quickly.”

Reil sighed. When she'd said she wanted to take over the company, she didn't know it'd demand so much of her time.

“But I have to talk to dad.” She said, already defeated knowing she will go either way.

“You could call or talk some other day.” Sarah sounded like she needed her there at that second. “Right now, you need to work.”

She rolled her eyes. “Okay then, see you at work in thirty minutes.”

“Can't you make it twenty?”

“Thirty. Bye.” Then she hung up, heaving a sigh.

She wanted to drop her phone in her pocket when she felt another vibration.

Tired and annoyed, she checked the message. It was from Greg.

Why was he messaging? They hadn't talked since he started blabbing about marriage and stuff.

She clicked on the message. ‘'Hey Reil, how about we meet, I have something to say.’

Did he plan on breaking up with her?

She rolled her eyes, returning her phone to her pocket. She was not going to allow anyone to break up with her, especially not Greg.

She headed back to where Ivy was. “I've got to go, something came up.” She explained and watched Ivy's face drop which she quickly covered with a small smile.
