Drix had woken up that morning with thoughts of the guy he'd met the previous night.

If Reil really was his girlfriend then she had messed up by flirting with him.

It's not that her flirting was having any effect on him, he just hated the fact she was cheating on her boyfriend by flirting with another man.

“Man, why are you so lost? What's bothering ya?” Bill asked, lying comfortably on the couch.

Drix let out a small sigh.

Maybe he was overthinking it. If she was a cheating girlfriend, it wasn't like he could do much about that. It was none of his business.

“Nothing, I'm just a little stressed.”

Bill stared at him with a raised brow. “You didn't know that when you decided to add another company to the list?”

Drix couldn't help rolling his eyes at his friend's sarcasm. “Let's just get to work. I have to leave early today to visit mom.”

Bill's lips curled upwards. “Oooo, somebody's going to meet the only female he's actually close to.”

Again, another eye roll, but this time, Dix didn't bother replying.

Reil let out a small sigh as she scanned all the stocks booster goals for the month.

At that rate, she'd probably never find a man to date. Not to talk about marriage.

“I'm going to be working all day and night.” It was supposed to come out as a question, but she just couldn't find herself asking the obvious.

“Yeah, I guess.” Sarah said with a small shrug.

“Ah shit.” She buried her face in her palms, readying herself for what lay ahead.

“If it helps,” Sarah started, “I'd also be working all day and night.”

Reil looked up at her, sighting the sympathetic smile on her face.

Sarah was a very pretty girl. She had a beautiful stature. Smooth skin and beautiful fashion sense.

She had full black curly hair which was mostly braided like that moment.

Reil was about to talk when her phone began vibrating.

She let out a small sigh when she realized it was from Dreg.

Answering it, she glued the phone to her ear. “Hello?” She furrowed her brows a little.

“Hey Reil, how ‘bout a meet-up, okay?” He sounded desperate, too desperate that she didn't want to go.

“Are you drunk?” He also sounded that way.

“No, I promise I'm not.”

“Then what do you want?”

“Please, let's meet.”

She contemplated it for a few seconds. She was really busy at the moment and also wanted to know what he had to say to sound so desperate.

Sighing, she responded. “I can't meet today, I'm too busy. Maybe next week.”

“Okay, but I want you to know that I love you babe.”

She let out a lop-sided smile. “Same here.” Then she hung up, dropping her phone on the desk in front of her.

“You had a fight with Greg?” Sarah, whose presence Reil had forgotten about, asked with a raised brow.

Reil nodded, not caring to give the details. “Did you try Drix's number again?” She asked instead. “He didn't answer the call after he suddenly hung up last night.”

“I'll call his secretary.” She walked away.

After hours and hours of working, Reil decided she needed to get out of work that night, else she'd age in a day.

She hadn't even had anything to eat since the morning. She needed to leave.

“Sarah, I'll just be going on a walk, okay?” She stood up from the desk she hadn't stood up from the whole day.

“Okay, but please come back early, I can't do all this myself for too long.” Sarah's head was buried in the paperworks on her laps.

“Sure thing.” Then she left the company, greeting everyone who greeted her.

She didn't realize how late it was till she got out. The sun had set and the night light shone everywhere. The stars had formed their beautiful dots in the sky.

The best part of it all was the night breeze that sent goosebumps throughout her skin, reminding her that she had on a gray spaghetti handle mid-thigh length gown that popped out her curves, showing a large amount of her cleavage.

She continued walking to anywhere her feet would take her as long as it'd calm her mind.

Surprisingly, the street was silent and her heels were the only sound to be heard.

She liked being there at the moment. She felt nice and calm.

After about ten minutes of walking, she decided to walk a few more steps then head back.

As she was walking, her left heels suddenly went the wrong way, bending all the way to the ground, unluckily for her, her foot followed it's path and she found herself on the ground too.

She was no expert in the line, but she could sense her leg was broken.

The pain emanating from her ankle was enough to convince her.

Was her feet really broken? Would she never be able to walk? How about guys? Sex? Nooooo.

She let out a whimper when she tried rising to her feet.

The pain ran through her whole body.

The worst part was the fact she was alone. Nobody around to give her assistance.

She decided to give Sarah a call, but when she reached for the pocket of her gown (which had no pocket), she realized she hadn't taken her phone from the desk.

Shit.

She was all alone on the road with possibly broken feet.

What could she do? She was doomed. This was the end.

“Ah, anybody please, I need help.”

Like somebody heard her cry for help, a car zoomed from somewhere she had no idea about, coming to a halt in front of her.

She tried rising again to see who was in the car, but the pain threw her back to the ground.

But there was no use, as the window was wound down, revealing the figure driving.

Relief flowed through her and she found herself smiling.

“Drix.”
