"Hey, Jake! can i talk with you?" Johnnie called from his bedroom, sitting at his computer.

Jake walked into Johnnie’s room, shutting the door behind him. “Yeah, what’s up?”

Johnnie turns in his swivel chair after clicking a bit on his computer. He rubs his arm.

Jake sat on the edge of the bed, tilting his head at Johnnie. “You alright? You seem a bit… uncomfortable.”

"Oh im good, just– i kinda wanted to talk to you about something" Johnnie replied.

“Alright…” Jake said, his curiosity piqued. “What did you want to talk about?”

"Well, I'm thinking that I might be autistic," Johnnie replied. "I use to like deny it alot but now I'm really questioning.."

Jake’s eyes widened a bit, not expecting this. He took a moment to process what Johnnie said before responding.

“Oh, really? I had no idea… I guess that explains some things…”

Johnnie laughed a bit. "Shut up, i mean– i wouldn't be surprised. And im happy that you got your diagnosis for being autistic but sometimes I just wonder... if i am too."

Jake chuckled softly, shaking his head. “No, no, I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I just mean that I’m not surprised you’re questioning it because you exhibit some autistic traits. It’s okay to wonder, though. Do you have any specific reasons for questioning it?”

Johnnie shifted in his chair, looking down at the floor. “Well, I guess it’s just that I have some trouble understanding social cues sometimes, and I can get really focused on certain things to the point where I ignore everything else…”

Jake nodded, listening intently. “Yeah, those are definitely traits that people with autism have. But those aren’t necessarily exclusive to autism, you know?"

“Right,” Johnnie nodded.

Jake leaned back on the bed, thinking for a moment. “So, how long have you been thinking about this? And have you talked to anyone else about it?”

"Just for the past few weeks," Johnnie replied, "I opened about it on a stream and then obviously to you"

“Ah, I see,” Jake said, nodding. “Well, I’m glad you feel comfortable enough to open up about it."

Johnnie nodded.

Jake smiled. “Yeah. It’s important to have someone to talk to about this stuff, especially if you’re still unsure. And if you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here for you, okay?”

Johnnie got off his chair and hugged Jake. "Thanks man, i appreciate it. Maybe ill look more into it in the future, but right now - Im comfortable with what i have going on right now, and that's why i talked with you about it"

Jake hugged Johnnie back, patting his back gently. “Of course, no problem at all. And I’m glad you feel comfortable talking to me about it. Remember, no matter what happens, you’re still my friend and I’ll always be here for you, okay?”

"Mhm," Johnnie nodded. "You're my best friend dude, and i really appreciate you listening to me"

Jake smiled warmly. “And you’re my best friend too, dude. I’ll always be here to listen and support you. Don’t ever hesitate to talk to me about anything, alright?”

"Alright," Johnnie hugged Jake again before he waved as his best friend left the emo's bedroom.

Jake chuckled and waved back, giving Johnnie a smile before leaving the room.
