cw: screaming, tantrum behavior

Johnnie slipped into little space. Looking for his stuffed animal all around his bedroom but he couldn't find it!

He started to get all teary eyed as he ran out of his room and towards Jake's. He knocked, "Jakey!!!!"

Jake chuckled softly as he heard the knock on his door, recognizing the little voice of Johnnie. He got up from his bed and opened the door, immediately noticing the tears in his eyes.

"Hey there, little one," Jake said gently, crouching down to be at eye level with him. "What's wrong?"

Johnnie sniffles as he hugs onto Jake. Stomping his feet and crying.

Jake hugs him back tightly, rubbing his back gently in an attempt to comfort him. He could feel Johnnie's tears soaking into his shirt, and he felt a pang of sadness in his heart.

Jake thought that maybe Johnnie was hungry, so he picked him up and carried him to the kitchen. He sat him down at the table and started looking through the cabinets for something for him to eat.

"Are you hungry, love?" he asked, "I can make you something."Johnnie continued to cry and punch at the table now. Having a tantrum and wailing.

Jake was starting to get worried now. He'd never seen Johnnie have a tantrum before, and it was clear that something was really bothering him.

"Hey, hey, hey..." he said, trying to get his attention, "Calm down, sweetheart. Please. You're going to hurt yourself."

Johnnie sniffles as he screamed, "NONONONO!!" as he got up and stomped around the kitchen.

Jake sighed, trying to remain calm despite Johnnie's tantrum. He walked over to him and gently grabbed his wrists, stopping him from stomping.

"Johnnie, you need to stop. I know you're upset, but this isn't helping." he said firmly, but still gently. "Tell me what's wrong, please."

But Johnnie wasn't listening. He fussyily hits his caregiver.

Jake winced as Johnnie hit him, but he didn't let go of his wrists. He held onto them tightly, but not enough to hurt him.

"Johnnie, stop it. That's not nice." he said, his voice firmer now. "You need to listen to me and use your words. Tell me what's wrong so I can help you."

But Johnnie still wasn't listening. He continued to cry and scream and hit at Jake.

Jake was starting to get frustrated now, but he knew he had to remain calm. He didn't want to upset Johnnie any further, but he also couldn't let him continue to act like this.

He took a deep breath and tried a different approach. "Johnnie, please. I love you, but I can't help you if you won't talk to me. Can you try to calm down and tell me what's going on? We can work through it together, I promise."

Johnnie pouted and stomped his feet crying, "It's gone!!!"

Jake was relieved that Johnnie was finally saying something, but he was confused by his words.

"What's gone, sweetheart?" he asked, still holding onto his wrists gently. "Can you tell me what you're talking about?"

Johnnie hits Jake's chest over and over, screaming, "GONE GONE GONE!"
