Jake and Johnnie have arrived at a hotel that is supposedly haunted and tonight they're staying the night at it. Jake exits his car and looked up at the hotel building. "c'mon Johnnie!" He beamed, already excited.

Johnnie groaned, stepping out of the car. He grabbed his bags and followed Jake to the hotel entrance.

"I can't believe we're doing this..."
He muttered, looking around the creepy old hotel. The vibe already made him feel uneasy.

"Hey don't chicken out on me" Jake rolled his eyes as he opened the door and allows Johnnie in first. "you're skeptical,"

"I'm not skeptical."
Johnnie protested, stepping inside. He looked around the lobby, noticing how old and worn down everything was.

He gulped, already starting to feel paranoid.
"I just don't believe in ghosts."

"What the fuck does that even mean?" Jake laughed as he approached the front desk. "Hi checking in," he said as he talking to the front desk lady.

Johnnie rolled his eyes at Jake's comment and followed him to the front desk. The lady behind the desk looked tired and bored, barely acknowledging their presence.

She looked at them for a moment before speaking up in a monotone voice.
"Name?"

"Uhh, Jake. Jake Webber." Jake replied as he is swaying side to side on his feet. Turning his head and smiling at Johnnie before looking at the woman at the desk.

The lady typed something into the computer and looked back up at them, taking a moment to scan their faces. Her expression remained unimpressed."Alright... and how many nights are you staying?"

"Just one" Jake replied as he looked at the creepy decor of the haunted place. Johnnie spoke up, "my friend and I uh– heard this place is haunted um, have you've seen anything?"

The lady raised an eyebrow at Johnnie's question, her expression becoming slightly amused."I have seen plenty of things in this hotel. But I'm sure it's just your imagination."
She said in a sarcastic tone, handing Jake a room key.

"Thank you!" Jake smiled kindly at her and grabbed the keys. Johnnie just awkwardly nodded in response.

The lady rolled her eyes at their response, returning to her previous bored expression.
"Enjoy your stay."

She said in a flat tone, gesturing towards the elevators. Jake started walking towards them, a mischievous grin on his face.

"She sounds nice," Jake said as he pushed the up button on the elevator. Humming as he waits for the elevator doors to open with Johnnie.

Johnnie scoffed, crossing his arms.
"She's clearly overworked and underpaid."
He muttered as the elevator doors opened with a ding. He walked in after Jake, looking around the small space with a hint of unease.

Jake laughed as the doors close. "true," as he looked at the key. "Click floor seven" he reads on the key's sign.

Johnnie pushed the button for the seventh floor and the elevator started moving, making a soft ding noise with each passing floor.

He stood silently, the elevator's silence being only interrupted by the faint music playing from outside.

He glanced over at Jake, a feeling of anxiety slowly creeping up on him as they got closer to their floor.

"This hotel looks old as fuck dude" Jake said as the doors open. They exit the elevator. "Okay room 367"

Johnnie looked out into the hallway, noticing how old and run down everything was. The floor was carpeted with a musty, faded pattern and the walls were decorated with various paintings and old portraits.
