Silas
I waited three days until I really started digging into what happened to Odette. I wanted to give her time to decompress and some normalcy. The only time I was away from her was to check in on the training. Trey was handling most of it right now.
When I did that she hung out with Natalie. From our conversations back to the house and inside they were back to their normal friendship. I was happy to see her settling back into the routine and friendships she had before the split.
Today I was back in the pack house but for the sole purpose of finding the wolves in Louisiana. I was using a spare office room and had pulled every book or map I could find on the area.
Natalie pulled Odette from the room after only a few minutes of being in here. While I wanted her with me always it was probably best she didn't stay. I was planning on contacting some of the Alphas in the area and I wouldn't be nice.
My entire reason for doing this was to make Odette better. She was still terrified of them coming back and I wasn't going to let her have that constant worry. Plus she mentioned recently she worried for her parents and wished to see them. She didn't want to go down there with the others. I wanted them to punish them for hurting her too.
I spread out a map of the United States. The entire map was filled with markings showing where each pack was. I located her town in Louisiana noticing there were three pack circling the area.
I wrote down their names then opened the book that had their contact information. It listed all the current Alphas and what regions they occupied along with a phone number. I wrote down their names and the number. I would have to wait to call them until Alpha Daniel showed up.
I sent Trey out to get him when I got here this morning. While I could call them without him it was a common courtesy to have an Alpha on the phone too. I was only following this now because I doubted the Alphas were involved so there was no point irritating them. Besides playing along might help me when I get down there. I would get more wiggle room without having to kill any actual pack members.
Moving to the computer on the desk I turned it on then signed in. I wanted to know what Bondye was. I hadn't heard of it before. Odette said the woman that chained her to the tree said it so it had to be important. What they did to her did sound like some type of ritual so I wondered if that was the word for it.
I opened the search tab and typed in the word. The first link had a tiny summary under it.
Bondye is the creator god in the African religion of Haitian Vodou.
My eyes flickered back to the map on the opposite side of the desk. Dulac, Louisiana was within reach of New Orleans. I had always heard of how over run the city was with witches but Voduo was a bit different than the witchcraft those covens practiced. Regardless, the single search made me realize it wasn't wolves that took her, it was witches.
Rituals within covens were a common occurrence that no one really questioned. They usually kept to themselves and didn't pose a threat to anyone else. However if they were sacrificing people to a rouge that was playing along that was a different story.
The packs down there should have intervened so it made me think they didn't know. I hoped they didn't anyway. If they did other Alphas would hold them responsible and it could lead to a fight. A neighboring Alpha could justifiably try to take their lands because of it. And any other pack would support them. No one wanted to sit back and allow others to hurt anyone, especially if it was a wolf going after humans.
I didn't know how long I was going to have to wait for Alpha Daniel so I started researching into Bondye more. Multiple articles talked about that Bondye is viewed as the source of power and creation. They believed that it was responsible for maintaining universal order. Bondye was their good god. One article spoke about how upon a good persons death they might encounter or meet Bondye briefly.
