Reil finally left to head to Sean's office. She wasn't sure what he was going to say, but she readied herself for his annoyance.
Well, she couldn't blame him. He had to take away four of his companies from Bale to her.
It wasn't her fault she was able to do things Bale couldn't do, so yeah, she wasn't in the wrong, right?
As she reached the door of his office which was closed, she stopped when she heard noises.
"Why the fuck would you give it to her dad?!" Bale sounded really furious.
"So what should I have done?" Her dad sounded exhausted. "Risk earning a billion dollars for what? Family? Would that get me a fucking billion dollars?!"
"Oh fuck that shit!" She'd never heard Bale scream at Sean, so it was surprising to hear. "You know you only did this because of Reil."
"What the fuck are you talking about?" Sean asked, sounding annoyed.
"Ever since that bitch was brought to our house, you know you've always favored her and given her every fucking thing she wants."
"Bale! Watch your fucking mouth!"
"Why?!" She could sense the tension that was obviously permeating in the office. "She lived twenty-six fucking years of her life having sex and wasting her life."
"Bale!"
"And then the day she says she wants to start working, you give it to her like she's some fucking what?!"
"You're talking like a fucking child now?!" Sean screamed back. "Just leave and come back when you've come to your senses."
"I'll leave, and I don't need your fucking business!" She heard stomping and involuntarily took a few steps away from the door.
Soon, the door opened and he walked out, slamming it behind him.
When he sighted her, he seemed surprised at first, but soon that emotion was exchanged with rage.
"You this bitch." He grabbed her elbow then pinned her to the wall.
"Why?" Anger flowed through her as she thought of everything Bale had done to her since she was young and why she shouldn't feel bad for taking anything from him.
"How dare you take over the company from me?" He asked through gritted teeth. "You have no business sense and would ruin the company."
She was sure it was the pregnancy hormones, but after recalling the amount of times he had said that and the amount of times he'd insulted her about business, she felt tears trembling on her lashes.
"Do you want to know why I took the companies from you?" She hated herself for crying in front of him, but it was the hormones. She couldn't control it.
"Because you've never seen me as a rival," she stated the truth, "you always think you're better than me and you've underestimated me so much."
His expression softened and she actually thought he was going to cry.
That'd be the impossible happening.
But he didn't cry.
"You never think of ways to fight me back." She continued, "you only see me as a whore who doesn't know how to take over a company, which is how I took over all four companies from you."
His grip on her hand had lessened.
"Let go of me." She ordered, and he looked like he didn't even remember that he was holding her, then he let go.
"I want that to be the last time you'll do something like that to me." She didn't want her child walking in on such a scene.
"If you hate me, just leave it to yourself and please don't ever express it." Then she walked to Sean's door and gave it a soft knock.
"Come in." His voice called from behind.
She turned to stare at Bale who was still standing and staring at her.
She thought of ways things could've been different between them if he hadn't decided to be filled with hatred towards her.
She reached for the door knob, then turning it, she gently pushed the door open.
Bale turned, then left and she walked into the office.
When she closed the door, she sighted Sean sitting on his desk with his head buried in his hand.
"Why're you doing this?" He asked as soon as she was standing opposite him.
She didn't reply and just stared at how stressed her dad obviously was.
It would've been tough for him all the while he had to take over the four companies.
"Why do you dislike your brother so much?" He stared at her, the weariness evident in his face.
She felt tired from standing and so invited herself to the seat opposite him.
"Have you ever considered checking the relationship with your children when we were younger?" She asked in a low tone.
He heaved a huge sigh. "Didn't you two ever think you could resolve whatever was the cause of your abhor towards each other?"
"It's not something we could've resolved." She'd grown up with that life.
At some point, she thought that was how all siblings were supposed to be. She thought it was normal.
Bale had always hated her and it's not something that could've been resolved.
"Do you plan on taking all the companies from him?" He asked in a stressed tone.
"Actually, this is the last one I plan on taking from him." She said truthfully.
He nodded, then stared at her stomach. "Won't it be stressful with the pregnancy and stuff?"
She rubbed her belly. "I'll be able to hang in there."
"How's it been going? Is my grandchild stressful to take care of?" He asked in a more lightened mood.
"Kinda." She smiled, "but as I said, I'll be able to hang in there."
"Want me to give you some advice on child bearing?"
She chuckled. "And what do you know about child bearing?"
He puffed out his chest in a show of pride. "I know a lot my dear, you're just so oblivious."
She chuckled again. "I'm listening then."
They chatted some more and got rid of all the tension and stress and annoyance that'd been permeating around the office.
