Bale had never felt so many emotions as soon as he left Reil that day.
He got to his car whose door was opened for him by a bodyguard and closed once he was in.
How had Reil pulled it off so well, that she was able to take over four entire companies from him.
The driver started the car and was heading to his house.
That was what he needed at the moment. Home. Where he could drown himself in as many bottles of alcohols as he wished.
Could Reil have been right when she said he had underestimated her?
He really only saw her as a slut whose real business was in bed.
But then she seemed to have changed since meeting the dude that owned the Rendox company. Drink or something.
The car came to a halt in front of his house and he realized that at that moment, he really craved for something strong.
He needed to clear his head of the entire day's event.
A bodyguard sauntered towards his car, opening the door for him.
~~~~~~
Trisha watched as Bale walked into the house, his brows furrowed, and as expected he walked past her without acknowledging her presence.He had probably met with Reil and she probably did something that pissed him off, because he had a particular expression when he was angry at something she'd done.
Trisha always wondered if it'd have hurt either of them to just get along.
She shook her head. They were both filled with pride and neither would want to take the first step to getting along.
Then her thoughts wandered to Finn. He'd been acting too strange for an eight year old.
He always acted moody. Like he'd reached his teenage stage instead of just an eight year old.
He probably just needed a father figure, and one of things Bale lacked was a good father figure.
She was going to talk to him about Finn.
She rarely ever talked to him, but she also didn't want anything to happen to her only child in the future.
She sauntered towards the direction he'd gone to and was certain he was at the bar having something to drink.
The day must really not have gone in his favor. Should she just leave him alone?
No. She needed to talk to him about their child as it was now or never.
She opened the door to the bar without bothering to knock as she was sure he wouldn't tell her to come in.
The bar was, as expected, filled with different types of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
It had one of the most expensive wines and beers and many more.
She just always saw it as a waste of money, but she'd never say that. It wasn't like they used their billions of dollars for anything that made sense anyways.
He was sitting on a chair with a glass of alcohol on the slab in front of him.
She sauntered towards him, inviting herself to the seat beside him.
He raised his head to stare at her with a raised brow. “What are you doing here?” As always, the tone he always had which was meant to be intimidating.
“We need to talk.” She said in a straight tone as she stared from his drink to him. “First, why the heck are you wasting yourself like this?”
“That's none of your business.” He turned back to his drink, taking a sip out of it.
“Is this about Reil?” She knew she was passing her boundaries by asking.
When she'd gotten married to him, he'd ensured she didn't say anything when it came to his personal life.
He stared at her like he was going to send her out, but then he sighed and turned back to his glass.
“Yeah,” he gulped down the entire glass and filled it again, “how on earth was she able to take over the four companies from me?”
Woah. Reil took over the four companies? Wow, that was so smart of her.
But that was why he was so moody. “So?” She drew her brows together, wrinkling her forehead.
He stared at her like he hadn't expected her to say that.
“What are you saying? I've worked my whole life for that fucking company.” His tone was still steady, so she took it as being on safe ground.
“Yeah, you did.” She folded her arms over her chest. “And you totally forgot the most important, which is your family.”
He leaned his head backwards like he hadn't expected to hear that.
“Yeah,” now that she'd started, she wasn't backing out, “have you ever checked on how your son is doing?”
“I'm doing this for Finn.” He retorted, “so he'll have a good future.”
“A good future?” She snorted. “You think you're giving him a good future?”
“Have you ever seen him run around the house to play, or bring friends from school? Or ask you for some fatherly advice?”
He raked a hand through his hair and took another gulp of his drink.
“Finn doesn't need five companies in the future.” She said, “I'm very certain he'd be enough with one.”
“What he needs,” she continued, “is his father or else who knows what might become of him in the future.”
He groaned. “Listen, just leave. I want to be alone.”
“And what about me?” She asked, in a low tone.
She knew she was moving past safe grounds when she said those words, but she had waited nine entire years. What was wrong with just crossing the line?
He stared at her and their gaze locked causing her heart to race a billion times faster.
“What do you mean?”
Her heart hammered in her chest, but she wasn't going to back out. “Haven't you ever considered the fact I'm human also?”
“You married me because you thought I was in need of money and you were in need of someone you could bring to your dad so you'll have a son.”
“But that's not why I married you.” She was surprised she could still talk with the way her heart was threatening to leave her chest.
“I found you attractive then and although I needed money, I'd still have said yes to the marriage if I didn't.”
His expression softened and she took it as a queue to continue.
“The last time we both had sex was when we wanted to have Finn, and I don't think that can be called sex if it was no fun.” She really was crossing lines.
“And haven't you ever thought of why I've never had sex with any other man since then?” She sighed, “it's because I'm still attracted to you.”
She had done it and was hoping she wouldn't regret it.
He leaned in to link their lips, wrapping his arm around her waist to pull her closer.
It was the first time she was kissing him after nine years and although he tasted of alcohol, it felt like she was on a spin roll.
She closed her eyes to swim in the kiss as he was exploring her mouth.
He was drunk, she knew that. And when he woke up, he'd probably regret whatever he was going to do.
But at least she'd be able to have sex with him after nine years. She'd never been happier.
Yayy, a hundred chapters. Thanks a lot for reading to this level and I sincerely apologize if you think this book is going on a really fast pace, I'll try slowing it a little.
