...

That afternoon, after Dragana returned home, Aurora gathered her courage and sent a message to Brandon. He answered.

-... Aurora –he said this to himself-...

The conversation started with a shy "Hello" from Aurora, which was answered with a "Hey, how R ya? [sic]" from Brandon. The conversation flowed; Aurora told him about her trip, Brandon told her what he's been doing, among other things. Aurora mentioned Dragana, but she left out the part where he had slept with her; just as Brandon also left out the part where he slept with both an old acquaintance and a friend with whom he had his "things"; but it was something that the two were going to tell once they saw each other in person.

-... Well... I have to tell her the truth now, today will be the day... maybe I also have to tell her about Vicky –Brandon said to himself-. Even if she stops talking to me, at least I'll be able to do things right sometime.

Aurora, on the other hand, at her house...

-I have to tell you everything that's happening with me, and what can happen to you if you keep hanging around that place... and I have to learn to be more understanding about these things, Brandon... I don't want to assure you that we'll be together again, but at least I want you to know how important you were and still are to me. Just trust me one last time so that this doesn't affect us both anymore.

Aurora left her house, right where Brandon was.

...

Brandon was at his mother's house, who was cooking.

-So will Aurorita come?

-Yes, mom.

-Everything okay? Have you reconciled yet?

-Ha, ha... well, not at all. It's not that simple, but at least we'll fix things.

-Aurora has always been a good girl; maybe she's very impetuous and likes to get into trouble, but she's always been there for you and you for her. At least talk things like adults.

-Adults... ha... sometimes I don't even know when the day will come when many people my age or hers act like that - he said that more to himself - Hey, I'll be right back, I forgot there's no soda.

-Yes, son.

Brandon headed for the door. His mother didn't hear very well when he opened it, but she did hear a noise in the back of the house.

-What are you looking for in the back? Remember that we don't use returnable bottles anymore.

But some masked men came in to threaten the lady, who didn't have time to scream, since one of them muffled her scream with his hand.

-Take her upstairs, tie her up and gag her. You stay with her and watch that she doesn't break free or scream; you guys come down when you're done.

Brandon arrived home with the things he was going to buy. Once inside, he was hit in the head with something hard, maybe a pipe, then he started to get beaten up brutally.

The noise did not go unnoticed, since members of Carla's brother's gang was around, noticing strange activities that could be seen from the window.

-Shit! –Said one of Yayo's gang members, who was inside a car-. Where the hell did they come from?

-Surely from the fucking roofs –said his companion-, we have to give the heads up to...

But then, someone approaches the car window; they were alarmed, but that person took out a gun, pointing it at them.

-Don't worry; we'll take care of it. We arrived a little late - a woman tells them-. You better go, so you don't get involved. And tell your boss what happened.
