Chapter 68: Journey

The City

As Navarez's entire network of influence was crumbling, a small group of the girls, Marissa, Dragana, Tamaki, Blazer, Saeta, Vivi, Veneno, Shangri-La, Artemis, and Siff, embarked on the task of going to the hospital where they learned Aurora had been taken. Fortunately, they also found out that Armando Cabrera was in the same hospital.

The girls arrived, but were only allowed in a waiting room on the ground floor. Protocol prevented them from accessing the upper floors.

Hours passed by. Some of them dozed off in the chairs, except for Artemis, Blazer, Dragana, and Tamaki.

-Are you sure Alan will be okay?

-Yeah, he just told me he was going to check out what was happening in the hood; but don't worry, Isma and Ale got his back -Blazer replied to Dragana-. Oh, look...

Blazer checked her cell phone and saw the message Alan had sent her.

-Everything alright?

-Well... yes and no... the other hoods are in deep shit: cops stormed the house of some guy Papitas knows, apparently it was a safe house. The cops are totally unhinged out there; they've even detained a bunch of our homies to ask them stuff but haven't found anything. Yulga said there was a shooting near the bridge that goes downtown. It's a total mess, but he says it's relatively quiet right now.

-How's Alan doing?

-Oh, you're awake, morra –Blazer said to Marissa who was just waking up-. Everything's cool, relatively speaking. There was a mess before he got there, but he's fine.

-That idiot... I told him he had no business being there. It would have been better if he'd just gone to Ale's house now that my dad's in jail.

-Yeah, but you never know -Dragana mentioned.

-Good evening.

Everyone turned to look. It was Darko Serafimovski.

-Darko!

-You know him? -Blazer asked Artemis.

-Well... uh... yes. He's my...

-Hi, I'm a friend of Sophia's.

-...

-Oh... should I tell them?

-Idiot...

-Okay... I'm her boyfriend.

-You have a boyfriend?!

-I hardly ever talk about my personal life with you guys -Artemis said-. Although, he already told you he's "a friend"...

-Oh, please! Come on!

-You'll have to make it up...

-You know I always fix my mistakes.

-Are you sure?

-Well, most of them.

-You two, should I get you a room upstairs so you can get it on?

-Carla! -Marissa scolded her.

-What? They're eating in front of the famished!

Just as Artemis said this, a doctor came out to where the girls were.
