FINAL: KATYUSHA VS DRAGON
Dragana Jarni stood in her tunnel, clad in her white attire with the red dragon embroidered on her right, focused and concentrated. Just before her entrance music hit, she recalled a final conversation she'd had with Armando a couple of days prior.
Two Days Ago, at the Hospital
—How's your training coming along?
—Good, —Dragana replied, seated across from Armando Cabrera, who was still confined to his hospital bed. —Did you like my gifts?
Armando couldn't bring himself to tell her he already owned the Dark Side of the Moon LP, but he decided he'd swap out his old one for Dragana's on the shelf. He did, however, genuinely appreciate the dragon plushie and the butter cookies she'd brought him.
—Yeah, thanks so much. You really didn't have to do it, especially since I'm about to be discharged anyway.
—When?
—Very likely tomorrow.
—You should rest.
—No, I have work to do. Otherwise, I won't be able to rest easy.
—I feel like this job is going to kill you.
—You don't say.
Dragana looked away, a hint of embarrassment on her face, but Armando's warm laugh quickly put her at ease.
—I'm kidding, but it's something I enjoy; just like you enjoy fight and grapple other human beings.
—Well, I'm good at it. And I admit, to a certain extent, it's fun.
—By the way... is that true? What you're planning to do if you win.
Dragana averted Armando's gaze, slightly annoyed.
—I told Diana I was going to tell you, —she mumbled, pouting slightly.
—Relax, I got it out of her because I had a hunch. I'm good at interrogating without having to be the "bad cop."
—So you're the good cop?
—Well, one tries to be, at least, not that bad. I hope not to give up anytime soon. But don't change the subject. Do you really want to keep facing Chocolate?
—Yes, but not in the way I planned before. I don't intend to be her judge; the authorities will handle that. Hopefully, you'll be the one to do it.
—I know, but it's the "ifs" that worry me.
—You could say it's a gamble I'm taking. Just as we all take several risky bets, including you, with last week's events, I think it's my turn to make my move. Of course, it depends on how she reacts, and how the environment reacts. But, until I try, I won't be sure if it will work or not.
