Part 67 - Haven't You Grown

It had been a few days, I hadn't had a single memory pop up, no nightmares since Loki had been with me and doing well.

Both me and Wanda had not spoke since our little spat. Which hurt as she was a good friend but maybe for the best as I had been doing well not thinking on my trauma.

We were all currently sitting in on a meeting about an upcoming event.

'...you all know the drill plenty of smiles, manners and stark donations... the government are on your good side right now and so are the people let's keep it up, now as for another matter I have a new agent taking Coulsons old position... he will be here later to introduce himself'

'This'll be interesting... a new right hand man' Tony says

'Yes... very respected and has a good eye'

'To make up for the one you have missing... got it' I say

Fury looks to me 'sorry who's out of mission work because even with both eyes is reckless...'

'Ouch...'

'Ouch indeed... meeting over'

We all walk out the meeting room Loki takes me by the waist and guides me to the library. We had been spending a lot of time there, he would read to me and I'd listen. We both enjoyed our quiet time and being away from everyone.

He reads to me whilst my head lay on his lap. I found it relaxing, he closes the book and looks down to me.

'You ok there darling?...'

I smile 'I am when I'm wit-' I go to say before hearing the thoughts of someone, someone I knew...

I sit up wide eyed 'darling? What's wrong?'

I look to him, was my mind playing tricks on me? Was this a dream. I stand up hurriedly 'fine- I'm ok- I'm just..'

I walk out the library in a haze and follow the thoughts. There was no way, I felt a lump forming in my throat, my body felt numb.

'Y/n!' I hear Loki call distantly

I continue to walk bumping into Tony in my haze. He grabs hold of me 'y/n what's wrong?' He asks

I shake him off 'nothing... I- I can hear someone...' I say

I reach the room where the voice was, I walk in and see him. It was HIM. That man that had been haunting me, the man I was afraid of, the man I had buried once before in my mind.

I stare blankly at him, I couldn't move I felt frozen in my place. He approaches me and gives me a sadistic smile.

'Well well... haven't you grown...'

I continue to stare, I couldn't move.

His hand plants on my shoulder, I finally break free of my trance and flinch away grabbing his hand and pulling it behind his back.

'Do not touch me...' I seethe lowly

I let go and he grins 'ahh little y/n we have much to discuss... please come take a seat...'

'I'm not going in there with you! Why are you even here?!'

He sighs 'I'm the new shield agent...'

I laugh 'oh my god and you think that'll last 5 minutes? I'll rat your ass out for what you did! Maybe it's the push I need' I seethe

He steps towards me, I immediately go to step back 'you wont because your still that scared little girl, look at you! Basically trembling at my feet! All that power and yet still no guts to stand up to me... you could kill me at a blink of an eye yet I hold that much power over you, you can't'

I look at him I felt powerless, my body felt numb. He was right I was defenceless against him, I gather myself slightly 'I was 12 when you first did it, when you first hurt me. Your disgusting!' I seethe my eyes on the brink of flooding.

'Y/n this was who you were taking about?' Tony asks

'Get a hold of yourself... or tell him your choice' he says between gritted teeth

I breathe slowly and bury my tears that threatened to spill.

'Yeah... this is the new shield agent..' I say before looking back to him

Tony and Loki walk up to us and greet the man.

'Tony Stark, pleasure to be working with you.' Tony says

He nods 'Brian Hemway... the pleasure is all mine'

'I'll leave you with Tony now...' I say going to slip away

'Oh but miss y/ln you offered to show me around...' he says

I clench my jaw, I couldn't do this... 'I can't right now...'

'Oh y/n I'm sure training can wait, go show him about..' Tony says

I ignore them and gesture him to follow. 'Why are you here?' I ask as we walk

'Wanted to see my little girl... took a while to track you down...'

I look to him angry 'maybe because I didn't want to be found, I'm gonna tell them...' I say

He laughs lightly 'y/n... you tell them and I will kill someone you love...'

I turn to him 'are you really that sick in the head?!'

He comes toward me covering my mouth, tears stung my eyes. 'I have eyes on that ex hydra brother of yours... you tell, his head gets it...'

He releases me from hold, I stand there frozen.

'I will be seeing you soon...' he says kissing my cheek

My brain felt fuzzy, I couldn't connect with him. I couldn't control him. I was powerless.
