Quick A/N:
Please comment, they're so fun to read! Anyway, enjoy the chapter :)
"They deserve to know, Ryder."
"The less people know, the better. I can handle this." Ryder gritted his teeth in annoyance as he glanced around my driveway as we walked down it together, my hands moving to push my school bag up further on my shoulder.
"That's hardly fair," I argued. "Ryder, you brought them to Black Blood's HQ too, he could target them as well. They deserve to know."
Ryder bit his bottom lip but silently giving consent, "Only them,"
As we approached our bus stop, Ansel sat on the gravel, Kelsey pacing as she talked back to him.
"Good morning," Ansel greeted cheerfully as I glanced around for people around us, before getting serious.
"This is very important but you can't tell anyone," Kelsey and Ansel both nodded their eyes wide with anxiousness. "So, Ryder's father-"
"Just call him Clay, okay? He was barely a father to me." Ryder corrected as he stood above us on a larger rock continuing to scan the area around us.
I know that he's nervous about something happening to someone and that he would blame himself when it wasn't his fault, he was truly too young to understand what was happening in the gang and once he did, he left. That shows who he is, right? We'd just have to talk about his issue with Clay because if he never just moves on then he'll never be truly happy. I just want him to be happy.
"Right, of course." I smiled at Ryder weakly and he curved his lips upward at me for a second then returned to his scanning.
"So Clay escaped that day that the police raided the Black Blood's headquarters, and now no one knows where he is."
Kelsey's eyes widened while Ansel's scrunches in confusion.
"But you aren't worried that he's coming after us, right? That'd be foolish, he knows that we would go directly to the police." Kelsey questioned, as I gave her a weak smile.
"Of course, Kels. He wouldn't be that stupid, we're just trying to be careful that's all." I lied.
I could feel Ryder's gaze on me but I didn't dare look at him, I knew if I did our faces would tell Kelsey and Ansel the true reason that Ryder had failed to sit down with us.

"-that's what I didn't understand, but I guess that makes sense." Blake laughed, as I smiled lightly at him.
"I'm just glad that you finally understand, that was our main goal." I gave him a reassuring pat on his back as he smiled down at me.
"You're right, thank you Shay. I really appreciate the study tutorial today, sorry that you had to miss lunch."
I beamed at him before shaking my head lightly, "It's no problem, just tell me if you need any more help."
Blake nodded, giving me reassurance that he would, "I'm going to go meet Alyssa, so see you later."
I smiled as he mentioned his girlfriend, they were such a cute couple, "Of course, I have to go explain to Ryder why I wasn't at lunch."
Blake gave an uncomfortable look, "Yikes, sorry Shay. Tell him I apologize for taking your lunch time, I really needed this help."
Waving him off I started towards the cafeteria, "It's no big deal, see you in Cal tomorrow."
Walking into the lunch room I spotted Ryder's dark hair over towards the back and quickly started over towards him. Looking around I made eye contact with a petite blonde girl, she looked to be around eighteen or so, and she didn't break our stare. I quickly looked away only to check back again, the blonde girl was still looking, her green eyes very striking against her light hair.
Shaking it off, I headed off faster towards the direction of my boyfriend.
"Hey babe." I greeted, softly kissing his cheek.
Bravely, I glanced over to where the blonde girl had once stood, she was now gone. A shiver ran down my spine as I glanced around looking for her and coming up empty.
"Hey, where were you?" Ryder asked, taking another bite out of his hamburger.
Reaching over and taking a fry off of his plate, I answered: "I was giving Blake math tutorials, I'm so sorry. With me being gone so long, he's fallen so behind."
Ryder let his hamburger go back down onto his tray, "Whose Blake?"
"This super sweet guy in my Calculus class, he just has so much trouble in that class." I replied.
Ryder's jaw clenched, "Oh, you have many study sessions together?"
I frowned at his questioning, "Well yes, we would have them Saturday mornings at my house but then once football season started he had to go to practice so we moved to after school or during lunch."
"He came over?" Ryder's eyebrows rose as did his voice slightly
"Yes, Ryder. What's wrong?" I rubbed my hands over his bicep as it flexed under my touch, my stomach filling with butterflies.
"Nothing's wrong," Ryder defended, his body still tense. "I just don't like the idea of some stupid jock over at your house with you every Saturday, or alone with you anywhere."
I smirked as I ran my hand teasingly down his chest, "Ryder, baby, are you jealous?"
Ryder growled under his breath, "No."
My smirked widened, "Oh, then I don't understand what the problem with us studying in my bedroom alone with the door closed. I mean, we're only studying."
Once I gave him a sly wink, Ryder's eyes widened and his breathing picked up, "You did what?"
Smiling and rubbing his bicep again, I giggled.
"Ryder, I'm kidding. We would study in the kitchen or on the front porch."
Ryder groaned as the bell rang and we both stood from the lunch table.
"Fine, I admit that I was jealous."
Smirking, I was happy with his acceptance of defeat as I kissed him on the lips before hurrying off to my last class.

"I don't work today or tomorrow." Ryder answered as he pulled me slowly behind him as we exited the bus.
"Sweet," I kissed him softly, hearing Kelsey and Ansel fake gag behind us.
"Yeah, we're going home now. Try not to make too many children while we're gone, I only have three names picked out so far." Ansel smirked before pulling Kelsey behind him as she giggling holding onto his hand.
"I'm pretty sure they're worse than us," Ryder commented. "I ran into them making out in the barn just yesterday and I had thought for sure that Ansel was eating her. Now that was pretty nasty."
I snorted, laughing lightly.
As Ryder started walking towards the house, I turned to look down the road towards school seeing the creepy blonde girl staring back at me but this time she broke our gaze quickly and started walking down the road away from me as though she didn't want to have been seen spying this time.
