*Ryder’s POV*
I was nervous.
I can’t say I wasn’t because I was visibly shaking and could feel the beads of sweat on my face despite the fast winds of my motorcycle.
Kelsey was holding onto me, Ansel in the car behind us. This was finally happening and I could imagine everything that could go wrong. We had radios in our ears in order to keep in contact.
Against my will, Kyle was in his mustang right behind Ansel. I wasn’t about to send Ansel in alone so he was our only option but Kelsey wanted to go get Shay with me and she wasn’t taking no for an answer. Women, I thought, rolling my eyes.
Kelsey gripped my jacket tighter as we made a tight turn.
“Sorry,” I whispered, she felt the same about my bike as Shay did, it scared the hell out of them.
“It’s fine, let’s just get to rally point.” Kelsey mumbled into my ear, as I nodded turning down the familiar road that led to a park that Kelsey had told me about that was near the school.
Kyle had been beside himself when we tried to explain the entire situation to him, he couldn’t believe it. He even claimed that it sounded more like a movie than reality, but isn’t that funny because I had always accepted the crazy as the mundane and normal almost seemed suspicious. It me feel jealous of his normal and loving childhood but at the same time, I would rather be the way I am than as naïve as Kyle any day.
Coming up to Teddy Bear Park, I could finally feel Kelsey relax as we began to slow down.
Ansel parked beside me, then Kyle on the other side.
Ansel immediately went to Kelsey’s side, “You alright? You looked tense on the back of the bike.”
She gave him a small smile, wrapping her arms around his waist, “Yeah, babe, I’m fine.”
Ansel blushed at her pet name before turning to me as if to show that now he was ready for business.
“Does everyone remember the plan?” I asked, feeling envious as I watched Ansel and Kelsey hold each other.
“Yes”
“Yeah”
“Of course we do,” Kyle answered, his answer coming out rushed.
“Are you fully in this? I cant have you coping out at last minute. I need you fully in this, Ansel is counting you and he’s one of my best friends, I can’t let anything happen to him because of you.” I asked, suddenly feeling suspicious of Kyle, I couldn’t have him getting scared and running off like a scared little girl.
Kyle nodded. “Of course I’m in this, I’m just nervous but I won’t leave Ansel.”
“Good. Let’s get there. We each have radios in our ears that I picked up at Radio Shack yesterday, use them only if its an emergency or to warn someone. We need to use silence to our advantage. They’re expecting a full entrance with gunfire and bombs but I’m going with Kelsey’s plan, we’re doing everything they don’t think we’d do. Only use the guns I gave you if you must.” Kelsey gave me a small smile at the mention of her plan.
“Oh, and Kelsey, are you sure you don’t want to go with Ansel?” I asked, I was certain that she’d want to be with him.
“I can’t. I promised Shay that I’d have her back on everything and that includes this, I have to help her.” gave her a subtlenod, because I promised Shay the same thing but now she’s been taken.
