"So, was it spontaneous, or was it..? Help me out here, what was it like to kiss the famous Ryder.. whatever Ryder's last name is?"

I giggled at Kelsey, before it hit me like a frying pan, I honestly didn't know that much about Ryder, well, expect that he was in a gang. That was our secret, I think, so I won't be telling Kelsey about it before I talk to Ryder more about it myself.

"Romantic, Spontaneous, all the above. He can be very romantic, you know? Well, when he wants to be."

Kelsey shook her head, "I can't see that, so I'll take your word for it."

Running into a hard body brought me back into the real world. The world where we had annoying teachers, giggly best friends, and way too much homework. My eyes went up to meet chocolate brown ones. He smiled down at me, light freckles dotted their ways across his cheeks, little brown hair was short but pushed to the side allowing for his bangs to be covering half of his forehead.

"I'm so sorry, love. I'm so turned around in this large school, seem to be tripping over my own feet and pretty girls, apparently. Are you alright?"

Holy shit, he was hot enough before, now he's British? Hot damn.

"Yeah, I'm good, thank you."

He smiled, showing his pearly whites, as he pushed his left hand in his pocket, his right hand holding a white piece of paper. His red jacket's sleeves were rolled up to his elbow, and blue jeans were snug to his legs, not that I was complaining.

"Not hurt? That's good, I'd hate to have you hurt. Could you help me with this complicated schedule?"

My head turned to Kelsey, I almost forgot that she was there, her eyes trained at the new boy. She turned to me before waggling her eyebrows and turning and walking right back down the hallway. Now we were alone, everyone else was enjoying their free period in various places.

"Of course, sure."

He handed me his schedule as I realized we had almost every class together expect for two.

"You can just follow me, we have almost every class together but two, and someone else could show you those?"

He nodded happily before finally taking a look around the hallway.

"Thank you for your help. I'm Ansel, by the way."

He stuck out his hand, and I giggled to myself, this boy was so different.

"That was cute."

He was different and blunt.

I blushed as his hand moved up to my cheek, a smile overtaking his lips.

"I'm Shay."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulder, and we started down the empty hallway, our voices bouncing off the blank walls.

"Lead the way, beautiful."

"You moved in where?"

I asked as Ansel and I walked towards my bus.

"That old yellow house on the bend."

He tried to explain.

"Oh! Raymond used to live there, he moved like two months ago. You live just down the road from me, a five minute walk."

Ansel smiled, "Good."

Kelsey walked up next to us, taking her usual spot in the seat next to me. Ansel sitting next to me, by the window.

"Well, he's cute." Kelsey whispered, and I nodded quickly.

"And very sweet too, he lives just the down the road from me, and up the road from you."

Kelsey smiled at him as he tried to lean into our conversation, quickly leaning back, realizing that he had been caught.

"I'm Kelsey, Shay's best friend, by the way."

Ansel smiled at her, offering his hand, I laughed as Kelsey looked taken back but shook his hand anyway.

"I'm Ansel."

"Go fish."

I glared at Ansel, and his smirk looked back at me. Damn, this boy was too good at this game for his own good. I took a card out of the pile, it was a 5.

"So, where are you from, Ansel? You're obviously not American."

He nodded, as he looked around my small bedroom as we sat on Ryder's blowup mattress, which I'm very surprised that Ansel has not asked about yet.

"London. My parents divocered because my father was cheating so I moved to The States with my mother."

I nodded, it was so sad to hear about his parents.

"I'm sorry about your parents, that's got to be hard."

I rested my hand on top of his own, just as the door burst open.

"I fuc-"

Ryder stopped in his tracks as he stared at our hands before looking at Ansel, I quickly removed my hand.

"I didn't realize you had company." His voice came out in a snap, I physically winced.

He turned on his heel and walked out of the room, leaving the door open.

"Is that your boyfriend?"

I couldn't even look at Ansel, my eyes on the door, "No."
