I slowly made my way downstairs to walk Ansel out, about twenty minutes after Ryder left. Once Ansel leave I don't what I will say to Ryder but I have to say something.

"Bye Ansel, see you at school tomorrow."

Ansel gave me a half hug before walking down my drive way and towards his house.

Ryder sat in the living room, staring blankly at the black tv screen, his fist clenched.

"It helps if you turn it on, you know?"

When he turned to face me I almost lost it. His eyes were so sad, but his features only showed angry but I recognised what it was, hurt.

"You want it on, turn it on." He snapped, before walking outside of the screen door letting it slam behind him.

Its been two days, Ryder has been being immature about the whole thing, and I'm getting real tired of it. He comes in late, throws himself on his bed, then is out before I wake up.

Tonight I waited up for him, hoping that at least he could tell me why he's so angry. I heard the door thump as Ryder opened it roughly, and the creaking of his bed as his body was thrown on to it.

"Ryder?"

I heard his heavy breathing slow.

"Yes?" His voice was gruff, as though he was sick, but I knew better.

My stomach rolled in my nervousness, what do I say now?

"How are you?"

Wow. Did I really just say that? I expected Ryder to scoff at me.

"Peachy, Shay. I'm very peachy."

Ryder always seems to surprise me. I rolled over to face him, only to find him already looking at me.

"What are you doing to me?"

Before I could ask what he meant, his large body turned away from me and his loud snores filled the air.
