Chapter Twenty
"Please stop,"
Zach only growled in response.
"Stop!" I screamed, pushing his wandering hands away from my innocent body.
"You are mine, do you understand that? I own you."
His brown eyes showed no mercy as he took my innocence away against my will.
My mind wandered through the memories as I gave Midnight and Rebel their feed, the moonlight shining into the open door of the barn.
He always said that he had "owned" me, why the sudden difference in personality? I refuse to believe any therapist is this good.
I heard talking outside the barn, Ryder must be looking for me. I smirked, time to get him back for making me pee my pants this morning. Quietly, I sneaked out the huge door ready for revenge. When my body turned the corner I was surprised to find Zach instead of Ryder. Only he wasn't alone.
Another man stood before Zach, a few inches taller, and definitely more buff, which was hard to beat Zach. I winced that I knew that too well.
Their quiet conversation went unknown to all the sleeping souls in the dark house. I only heard a few of the murmurs.
"What the hell not?" The taller man growled at Zach, causing Zach to flinch. That was a new sight.
"Just not yet, okay? It'll happen."
The taller man grabbed Zach's shoulder, giving it a hard shove, "Your worthless life depends on that, so it better happen."
Zach visibly gulped, what the hell is going on? Why is Zach taking it from this guy? He never took crap from anyone.
"Yes sir."
"Good. Keep me updated."
The taller man turned to leave, and my heart beat raced out of control when I realized I would be caught if Zach just turned around. Quickly, I went back into the barn, getting extra feed for Rebel and acting as if I'd been in there the entire time rather than eavesdropping.
"Shit." I heard Zach whisper when he saw me inside the barn, I pretended not to hear it.
"Hey Shay," He greeted, but I could hear the shakiness to his voice, he was nervous.
"Hey Zach." I smiled, giving him no hint of hearing his late night meeting.
"What are you doing out here this late? Someone might sneak in here and hurt you."
My thoughts thought to the first night in which I met Ryder. He scared me straight to my bones, but now I was falling for him so hard that I couldn't ever imagine fearing him.
"That would be horrible, I'll look out for them."
Zach huffed, rolling his eyes. "Look, I still care about you, Shay. I just want you to be safe."
Hearing that from anyone else would give me butterflies in my stomach, but not Zach. Never Zach.
"You call hitting me "caring" about me? Or saying that you "own" me? You truly are sick." I hissed, I was feeling brave tonight.
Zach raised his eyebrows, fear growing inside me, I forgot who I was dealing with.
"My girl, feisty as ever." A smirk covered his lips.
I huffed in disgust, "I'm not "your girl"."
I locked up Rebel's stall before starting back for the house. When I turned around, Zach was starting his way up to the loft of the barn.
