Recap:
We sat there in silence for a while, before he spoke, "I like your new look, it looks cute on you."
My whole mood dropped, this girl wasn't me, and Kyle liked that?
Before I could speak someone yanked me out of Kyle's arms, punching him, making him black out. I couldn't get a clear image of who my attacker was before a cloth was placed in front of my nose and I blacked out.
_______________
Black.
That's all I could see.
Another groan left my lips before someone hit my head and I fell back into unconsciousness.
*Ryder's POV*
"Come on! Just one dance?" She tried the puppy dog face but I wasn't even remotely going for it. I hadn't seen Shay and Kyle in over thirty minutes.
"No, Nicole, leave it."
She huffed, moving back to sit next to me.
"Look, Ry, I don't want to be that pushy girl but we're at a damn party," she paused, motioning to the place all around her, waving her arms looking stupid. "You're supposed to dance or at least have a little fun."
"It's Ryder." I growled, she seemed to not get that no matter how many times I corrected her.
She cocked her head to the side, "It's a nickname, duh. You're no fun."
Did that football player blockhead take Shay somewhere? Moving my head from side to side scanning for their two figures in this crowded space.
Nicole moved to stand in front of me, hands on her slender hips, a purple dress falling to mid thigh.
"Ry?"
"I don't want a nickname. I like my name." I stated dumbly, not trying to correct her again. Nicole rolled her eyes claiming that she needed a drink. She was sweet at times, but damn, you got to do what she wants or she is no fun.
Walking across the dance floor, I checked every couple.
No Shay.
That red of lips? Not Shay.
Nope.
No.
Biting my lip I felt myself grow frustration, where the hell did that damn boy take her?
I glanced up the stairs, couples were making out everywhere. I cringed, no way Shay would go up there with him.
Pushing through the crowd, I headed to the backyard. Wandering around the back, I found Kyle. He was lying face down in the grass. Great.
I cursed, no way this was any good.
Flipping him onto his back, I noticed his bloody nose.
"Damn it." I cursed again.
"Kyle? Kyle!" Shaking him, maybe more than needed, but I shook him anyway. He was out like a light.
My stomach dropped, where was Shay?
I need Kyle for answers.
Dragging his unconscious body over to the side of the house, turning on the hose.
It took about fifteen minutes of direct water to the face before I got any movement.
"Damn." He groaned, rubbing his eyes.
Attempting to stand up, he looked around.
"Shay?"
I pushed him to sit on the ground, standing over him crossing my arms over my black shirt, grass littering all over my matching jeans.
"Sit down, Prince Charming. What happened? Where the hell is Shay? What did you do to her? I'll kill you if you hurt her."
His breathing was crazy, as he gulped.
"We were sitting on that bench, just talking, and then someone came out of nowhere and hit the crap out of me." He paused, cringing as I tapped impatiently, I needed to know where Shay was.
"They took her." He whispered, but I heard every word, my whole world crashing down.
No. This is what I was trying to prevent. They have her.
I leaned my forehead against the brick wall of Kyle's house, my entire body feeling empty. How the hell did this happen?
Then I turned and glared at Kyle, "How the hell did let them take her? Huh! Why didn't you protect her?"
He let out a stuttering mess, 'I-I'm sor-ry, I d-didn't mean-n t-to-" I cut him off, pushing his body against the brick wall.
"She better not be hurt when I get her back or I'll come back and kill you myself." I growled before running to my motorcycle.
Thirty minutes later, I was in front of Kelsey's house, almost in tears. I was terrified for her, but I had to be strong for her. I had to find her, and I would need help.
***
"Whoa whoa whoa, you're in a damn gang?!" Kelsey screeched, "Plus, my best friend got taken by them because of you?!"
I cringed, Kelsey was making this harder. I've never even heard that girl curse before, damn I really pissed her off.
She began to pace, running a hand through her blonde hair.
"Oh my god, oh my god."
Stopping right in the middle, she turned to look at me, tears in her eyes.
"She's dead, isn't she?"
A hiccup left her lips, as streams of tears began to flow down her cheeks.
"No." I told her, firmly. "She's not."
"How do you know that?" Kelsey yelled, "Huh? You don't!"
Walking over to the couch, pillows began to be thrown my direction.
"She's dead. My best friend is dead." She whimpered before dropping to her knees.
A slap of pain strikes through my body, every nerve on edge. Would they have killed Shay? They wouldn't, right? It would make sense, kill my weakness, because that's what she is to me. But, at the same time, that'd be too easy. They want to hold her over me, torture me by using her. There's no possible way they'd have already killed her because that would take all the fun out of it for them.
They want a game.
"She's not dead, that'd be too easy. They want a challenge, a game."
A frown overtook her lips, "A game?"
"They won't just tell us a place, that's too easy because then it ends too quick."
I felt sick trying to explain this to innocent little Kelsey.
My past is full of monsters, and I used to be one of them.
Nodding, "Oh, you really used to be one of them, huh?"
I sighed at her question, "Yes."
Getting up, then going to fix the pillows, she stood before me.
"Well, we're going to get these assholes for taking my best friend, but first let's go get Ansel."
Author's Note:
I just hate school, every bit of it. Hope you enjoyed the chapter, it gets exciting from here. I just noticed that there are so many people on Wattpad from Texas, like this is crazy. Buttt, I don't know any of them. Ha, that's Texas for ya. By the way, I'm going to start editing this story, no major changes just make it flow better and sound better.
Alright, you guys know, please vote!
Thanks for reading & the support,
