Three times when Kendall and Ella almost kiss, and one time they do...

August 2005

KENDALL COULDN'T BELIEVE it.

How had all three of his best friends acquire their first kisses already?

He thought that they were all in the same boat. Or at least he, Logan, and Carlos were. James flaunts his first kiss with Lindsey Finch at the age of 7 whenever the topic gets brought up.

But to learn that he was now the only one amongst his friends that had yet to kiss a girl seemed slightly humiliating.

Even though he was only 10, he felt behind.

The teasing from his friends definitely didn't help either.

Rolling his eyes, he stomped away from them after school. He found Ella sitting on the bleachers reading a book.

Marching over to her, he let out an over dramatic sigh.

Not even needing to look up to know who it was, her attention was maintained on finishing the Harry Potter series as she asked. "What happened now?"

Kendall sat next to her. "I'm the only one who hasn't kissed anyone, and James, Carlos and Logan won't stop making fun of me for it." He said with slight distress.

Ella scrunched up her nose slightly, turning her head to him. Stuff like this never bothered her. She never really was into the idea of elementary school relationships nor did she want to partake in them. She knew boys didn't have cooties; she had three as her best friend. But the prospect of kissing a boy never crossed her mind. "Don't let them bother you," she told him simply. "You'll kiss someone eventually."

Then, realization hit Kendall. "El, have you ever kissed someone?"

Ella shook her head. "Nope."

She could see Kendall pause as an idea flashed through his head. "What if we-"

"Don't even think about it." Ella immediately said putting her hand out, hovering over his mouth.

"Fine." Kendall sighed, turning his body so he faced the courtyard. He didn't like Ella or anything. That was for sure. But he just really wanted a first kiss.

Ella returned to her book, and they sat in silence for a few minutes. Curiously, she looked over at Kendall who was sulking. Rolling her eyes a little, she leaned over and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek.

Kendall immediately blushed, turning to her.

"There." She shrugged, no underlying intention behind her actions. "Now you had your first cheek kiss, so stop being sad about having no kiss."

Kendall smiled, thankful for the gesture. She was the best friend in the world.

November 2008

"Party, party, party!"

Ella watched amusedly as James and Carlos began chanting in excitement over the news that Kendall would have a free house tonight.

"Guys." Kendall groaned. "My mom said to not have people over."

"But Kendall, we're in high school now. Think about the cred we need to establish." James insisted dramatically as Carlos nodded from besides him.

The blonde rolled his eyes, looking for any semblance of back up amongst the rest of his friends.

"Kendall's right." Ella spoke up. "We were trusted to watch the house tonight, not throw a party"
