ELLA WAS RELEASING her fourth album. It was a huge deal to her as she had been working on this project over the span of two years.

She was elated for her new music. As she counted down the hours until its official release, she couldn't help but reminisce about her album writing process.

Kendall was her muse. He was constantly inspiring and motivating her to write songs as if there were no tomorrow. Ella loved those calm days where they would just hang out in either of their rooms with Kendall aimlessly strumming on his guitar and her writing in her song journal.

He would smile whenever he looked over and saw her face in pure concentration mode as she wrote with purpose.

Kendall loved her songs. Simple as that. And it wasn't just because she was his girlfriend. Ella was amazingly talented, and he constantly told her that.

"Espresso" was the first song Kendall listened to.

"Now he's thinkin' 'bout me every night, oh, is it that sweet? I guess so. Say you can't sleep, baby, I know. That's that me espresso..."

Ella drew inspiration for that song a few weeks after Kendall had first confessed he loved her in the middle of the night.

He texted her, knowing she wasn't asleep yet either. However, she knew the boy wasn't one to stay up as late as her.

"I can't relate to desperation. My 'give-a-fucks' are on vacation..."

And after he had revealed his feelings for her, Ella was quick to remove the thought of them getting back together from his head. The audacity he had to think she would easily take him back was comical.

But, of course, his confession left her utterly confused. She didn't want to admit it to herself though.

"Too bad your ex don't do it for ya. Walked in and dream-came-trued it for ya. Soft skin and I perfumed it for ya..."

At the time, she truly did believe that he had come back to her because things didn't work out between him and Lucy.

She wasn't surprised, though. Look at how their relationship started.

This album was more lighthearted than her last one, having healed from all the pain over the past few years. She had grown so much as a person, and this album reflected that.

"I'm working late 'cause I'm a singer. Oh, he looks so cute wrapped around my finger. My twisted humor make him laugh so often. My honey bee, come and get this pollen!"

And she couldn't help but have a little fun with her dilemma with Kendall. Seeing as how much he had put her through, it made her content seeing him want her back so badly.

"Is it that sweet? I guess so. Mm, that's that me espresso"

And the ironic part was Kendall didn't even like drinking espresso. He liked the song, but bringing up Lucy was definitely a bit of a jump scare for him.

However, he would never forget hearing "Taste" for the first time.

"Oh, I leave quite an impression. Five feet to be exact..."

When Ella learned that Kendall and Lucy were together again after what happened in the elevator, she was, of course, hurt. She agreed to a date with Dak immediately after seeing that her ex-friend and ex-boyfriend clearly didn't care about her feelings.

"Now I'm gone, but you're still layin' next to me, one degree of separation..."

But later on, her hurt turned into anger. And she just couldn't believe what the two of them had done to her.
