FOR THE FIRST time, Ella felt strangely content when she woke up. This was because she was right back where she belonged: the crib. In the apartment with Jo, she used to toss and turn from the unfamiliarity, but now, wrapped up in her twin sized bed, with the soft sound of Katie snoring next to her, she felt peaceful and happy.

Gustavo had asked for an earlier call time than usual so she let Katie sleep a little bit longer. She ran a hand through her blonde hair, making her way into the bathroom. After brushing her teeth and putting on jeans and a top, she walked out to the living room where the boys were already. Ella grinned at the scene.

Although Mrs. Knight was already gone, she had left breakfast in the kitchen for them. James and Carlos were fighting for the milk to put in their cereal, Logan was eating his toast and reading a book, and Kendall was sitting at the table, trying to eat while rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Finally, he looked up to see the blonde girl awake and out of her room.

"Morning, El," he smiled.

This prompted everyone to look in her direction, smiling and greeting the same way.

Ella yawned, "Good morning, guys." Grabbing a plate of pancakes already made for her on the kitchen island, she walked back to the dining table, sitting down next to Kendall.

Last week, Ella went to talk to him once she was finished unpacking. Kendall wasn't fully out of the woods yet. What he did was incredibly wrong and his actions hurt her beyond belief. It didn't sit right with her to move on completely without some type of conversation between the two of them.

When everyone else in the crib fell asleep, she lightly rapped on his door, before quietly walking in.

Logan was fully passed out, but she knew Kendall tended to stay up a little past everyone like her.

He was in his bed, writing stuff down on a piece of paper. When he saw her, he moved it to the side, and he looked at her with slight confusion.

"Hey."

"Hey, can we talk?" She asked, gesturing her head outside.

He nodded, standing up as the two of them walked to the living room.

"I'm glad you're back." Kendall told her as they sat on the couch.

"Me too," she nodded. "But that's what I wanted to talk to you about." She took a deep breath. "You know you really screwed up, right?"

Kendall's heart dropped slightly. "Yeah, I know."

She could see his disappointment, so she backpedaled. "Kendall, trust me. I forgive you. I do. But I need to know if I can count on you again."

As he looked at her, he could faintly see 10 year old Ella again who was so hurt and sad because everyone she had ever cared for had left her. It upset him to see this version of her again, especially knowing he had caused this distrust.
