≻───── ⋆✩⋆ ─────≺YES, BEING FAMOUS had its perks. It was one of the many reasons the boys had chosen to move out to L.A. with Gustavo.
Ella actually had no intentions on being a singer, but in Kendall's words, when life gives you opportunities, you just got to grab it and turn it big time. Granted, he was talking about a sprinkler to soak the girl's hockey team, but it was still good advice.
It had been nice getting noticed by fans, having thousands of people listen to your music, and doing what you love to do. However, being famous also came at a price:
It was a huge invasion of privacy.
It wasn't all that bad in the beginning, but the paparazzi started sneaking up on the five teens by the pool and interrupting their time with their friends, while they took out the garbage, going as far as to rummaging through their trash, and even in the Palm Woods lobby after a long day of rehearsal.
The final straw was finding some fan named Winnie in the privacy of their own crib who wanted them to autograph baggies of their own hair.
After that, they all collectively agreed to go tell Gustavo about this.
Ella sat on one of the couches in the studio with the boys as their producer walked back and forth in front of them.
"There comes a time in every band's career when I need to move you out of the Palm Woods," Gustavo announced.
Immediately, the five teens cried out objections and protests.
"What?"
"We love the Palm Woods."
"Not moving!"
Ignoring them, he continued, "The Palm Woods is the home of the future famous. And you guys are the now famous." Gustavo reasoned. "And I need to move my investment—that's you Dogs—to a place where you're better protected.
"Okay, but all of our friends are at the Palm Woods." Carlos pointed out.
"And girlfriends." Logan added.
"No, I'm fine." Kendall piped up, wrapping his arm around the girl sitting besides him. He waved off the glares the rest of the boys were giving him. "We're just not moving."
"You know what else is at the Palm Woods?" Gustavo wondered rhetorically. He counted on his hand. "Paparazzi and celebstigators looking for dirt, and crazed fans that can walk in off the street."
Ella furrowed her brows as Winnie walked up next to Gustavo, sipping on a mug.
"He's right, guys, you really have to think about your safety," she nodded.
"Who are you?" Gustavo asked, turning to face the fan.
"Winnie Diamond, James' future wife." Winnie answered proudly as James pointed to himself dubiously. Ella stifled a laugh as the young fan waved flirtatiously at him.
Gustavo immediately ushered Winnie out of Rocque Records. "Out!" He shouted at her, before retuning to the group.
"Gustavo, we know things have changed, but...we don't want you moving us into some snobby gated community." Ella spoke up, nose scrunching at the thought.
"And nothing's gonna change our minds." The boys chimed in unison as they crossed their arms.
"I'm moving you to Bel Air." Gustavo told them.
At this, the teens leaned forward in interest.
━━━━
Within a day, the entire crib was packed up and they had all finished saying goodbye to their friends.
