And that was because Ella and Kendall were back together.
She truly loved him, and if you told the girl that a year ago, she would have never believed it.
Kendall was it for her. He knew her better than anyone, took care of her better than anyone, showed love for her better than anyone. He was in it for the long haul.
There was definitely a shift in their romantic dynamic, but Ella wasn't complaining. It was more natural, and she had never felt more comfortable with someone.
When they walked into Apartment 2J hand-in-hand and soaking wet from their dramatic love confession in the rain, she was met with a chorus of "Finally"s from the boys who had been waiting for this moment since the day she left on her world tour.
This time, Carlos and Logan weren't even mad about handing James money after he predicted the exact time frame of when the two would get back together in their little bet.
Speaking of money, it was never a problem for Ella.
Up until she was 15, her parents had gracefully provided for everything, especially when they would go on their long business trips and leave a large sum of cash for their daughter on the dining table. But, when she wanted to splurge on clothes or things that weren't a necessity, she used the money she got from her minimum wage job at the Shakopee mall.
Then, when she and the guys moved to L.A., their producer paid for their facilities, such as their apartment, their car, and even the bills they would get after breaking something expensive.
Well, there was that one time when Gustavo had the five teens go get jobs to pay back the $2000 they owed him. But, after it completely backfired on him and he ended up needing to pay Griffin back $14,089, they were never asked to work again.
However, at the end of the day, it was okay because Big Time Rush and Ella Reed were playing sold out concerts, creating number one albums, and appearing in random cameos. She assumed that they were pretty financially stable at this point.
Until today.
The boys had the best idea to go down to Palm Woods park and rent some equipment for a fun game of whatever sport they chose. Ella politely declined, deciding to stay back in the crib.
She was mid-writing in her song journal, until her phone rang. She answered it, her boyfriend's nervous, yet casual tone filling her ears.
"Hey, El. So, um...I was wondering if you had, like, $80 you could spare?"
If Ella was drinking water, she would have spit it out. "What?" She choked out. "Why do you need so much money?"
Didn't James just win $40? How did he spend it all already? She could hear him nervously chuckle on the other line.
"We were playing cricket, and it, kind of, got a little out of hand. Turns out, we have no money and Carlos keeps monopoly currency in his wallet," he explained lowly. "Now, everyone at the park is super pissed and looks like they want to murder us, so if you could come down and give us 80 bucks so we could gift them with Gummie Buggies, that would be great."
Ella smiled and shook her head, wondering how the boys always got themselves in these types of situations. She wasn't even aware of the fact they knew how to play cricket. "Sure, I'll come down to save you, Hockey-Head." She stood up, walking over to her wallet. "Let me just..."
