ELLA RAN INTO the crib, completely elated by the event that occurred early this morning.

She saw her boyfriend and friends chilling on the couch as she ran over to them with a wide grin. "Guys, I did it."

The four boys looked at her in curiosity, pausing their video game.

"Did what?" Carlos wondered.

Ella took out the piece of paper from behind her back. "I passed my learner's permit test!" Showing off the certification she received, she was met with complete and utter silence. Her smile slowly faded as her friends raised their eyebrows, looking at each other, before staring back at her. "What?"

All of a sudden, James sputtered, bursting out into laughter, and soon, the rest of the guys followed.

Ella frowned, not expecting to be met with this reaction.

"Ella, I think you're the only 18-year-old I know that doesn't know how to drive yet." James remarked as the girl crossed her arms in offense.

"Yeah, how have you just gotten your permit?" Logan added. "You know, we were able to get it at 15."

Ella rolled her eyes. "Thanks, genius. I didn't know that."

"Even I have my license already!" Carlos exclaimed.

Shaking his head, trying to hide his own laughter, "Guys, lay off." Kendall's voice was far from serious. In fact, there was definitely some amusement in his tone. "We haven't exactly had the time to go study for tests and practice."

"Thank you, Hockey-Head." Ella nodded in acknowledgement. At least there was still some decency left in this apartment.

Carlos and James started fake coughing. "Wimp," they let out.

Ignoring the comment, she waved her paper. "Well, now, someone needs to teach me how to drive."

Again, silence fell on the group as they looked at each other but this time, in slight terror.

"And what if we value our lives?" Logan suggested, the boys pointing at him in agreement.

Opening her mouth to argue, Mrs. Knight made her way over to the teens with Katie.

"Does anyone want to come with me to the grocery store?" She asked.

"Yes."

"That sounds super fun!"

"Let's go, Mama Knight."

"Be right there!"

Kendall, Logan, James, and Carlos immediately got off the couch, the latter three walking towards the door, while Ella stared at them in disbelief. "It can't be that bad to teach me how to drive," she huffed.

Kendall chuckled slightly, making his way over to the girl to wrap his arm around her, desperately trying to change the subject.

However, Ella knew that this conversation was far from over, and she would be asking him much later on when he least expected it.

One quick grocery store trip later, the five teens were in the parking lot, carrying multiple brown bags full of items to take back to the crib.

"Don't eat the cereal out of the box." Ella chided as she watched her helmet-loving friend put a handful of it in his mouth.

"I can't help it-" Carlos remarked, before gasping. The four boys stood in shock at a motorcycle for sale right in front of them. "Whoa."
