≻───── ⋆✩⋆ ─────≺NOW THAT ELLA'S album was finally out, Gustavo decided to relieve the girl for a day, giving her a much deserved break.
Unfortunately, she was unable to spend the day with Kendall, due to the entire Knight family going back to Minnesota for their aunt's wedding.
She would've gone with them as a plus one, but it was completely short notice, and the girl kind of just wanted to chill at the Palm Woods pool anyways.
Walking in the lobby, she passed by Bitters who was laughing wickedly, turning away from a fearful-looking Carlos.
"No, no, no!" He exclaimed, fiddling with the vending machine.
"What's he evilly laughing about now?" Ella asked.
"He upped the vending prices. Now I can't afford my fruit smackers." Carlos complained, smashing his face into the glass. "I love them so much."
Ella rolled her eyes as she bent down, using her arm to grab two packages of candy from the dispenser. She put the package in a surprised Carlos' hands, then opened her own, sticking a gummy in her mouth.
"Oh, thanks, Ella."
"It was nothing," she shrugged, making her way outside to go enjoy the pool with her free pack of fruit smackers.
As she sat down on one of the chairs, she had about five minutes of alone time, before she felt someone tapping her shoulder.
She took off her sunglasses, seeing Carlos wearing a tree hat and a sheepish smile.
"Can you please get me another one?" He pleaded.
Staring at him for a couple seconds, she eventually gave in. "Fine."
Ella stood up, going into the lobby, as Carlos followed her.
"I'll keep an eye out," he promised as they both hid under a bush.
He peeked out from it, before exclaiming, "Coast is clear."
Ella took this time to reach into the vending machine again, but jumped, hearing the sound of an alarm blaring through her ears.
Carlos ran over to the machine. "Be quiet!" He exclaimed, hitting it.
Once it abruptly stopped, Ella turned around to Bitters.
"Did you not notice my new vending machine with tiny arm alarm and digital password encoding?" He asked, smugly as the two turned around to look at the machine.
"No." Ella plainly said.
Bitters rolled his eyes at the girl, before he walked to the vending machine, secretly putting in a code, while Carlos stood on his tippy toes, trying to see what it was.
"Now if you want to snag your smackers, it's going to cost you $5." Bitters stated, walking away, as Carlos gasped, slamming himself against the wall.
"$5!" He repeated, in shock.
Ella shook her head as she walked over to the machine. "1-2-3-4-5," she said, pressing the numbers into the panel. When it denied, she tried another easy combination. "5-4-3-2-1." Seeing that it was wrong again, Ella muttered out, "I swear if this is the code...0-0-0-0-0."
A cheerful beep came out of the machine, allowing the teens to enter their own price for the snacks. "Unbelievable," she sighed as Carlos exclaimed in excitement. "5¢." Ella said happily, setting that as the amount.
"Hey, who wants fruit smackers for a nickel?" Carlos shouted, turning to the people in the lobby.
Everyone ran over to the machine, lining up, as Ella took a dime out of her pocket, putting it in the machine, and getting two packets for the both of them.
