ELLA WAS TAKING too long in the crib and the boys were growing impatient, so she just told them to go down to the lobby first.

Before she left, she got a text from Kendall, telling her to meet him at the pool.

Phone and song journal in hand, Ella walked out of the apartment and waited for the elevators.

Once the doors opened, she saw a girl inside, wearing a leather jacket, dark blue jeans, and combat boots. She had black hair with red streaks in it and her eyes were coated with black liner. She looked cool, but pretty intimidating to say the least.

"Hey," Ella greeted. "Not to be rude or anything, but I haven't seen you around before. Are you new?"

The girl smiled at her, holding out a hand, "Yeah, just moved in. I'm Lucy."

"I'm Ella," she said, shaking it.

"I know," Lucy smiled. "I listened to your album. Your voice is awesome."

"Thanks."

Ella curiously looked at her attire, not thinking she was the type to really listen to her music.

Lucy caught on, chuckling softly, "Yeah, it's ironic considering I'm here to be a rockstar, but I know good music when I hear it."

Ella nodded her head in appreciation. "So, where you headed?"

She held up some papers in her hand. "I'm going down to the pool to try and write some songs."

"Cool, I'm going there too. I'm meeting my boyfriend, but I'll introduce you."

With that, the two girls made their way towards the pool, seeing Kendall reading a magazine.

"Hey, Kendall." Ella grinned, using his real name for once. She ruffled his hair before she and Lucy sat down on the chairs. "This is Lucy. She just moved in," she said, gesturing over to the rocker girl.

"Hey," Lucy said.

Kendall looked at her, giving a tight-lipped smile and nod, before looking down at his magazine again.

"Uh, what's going on?" Ella asked, wondering why he was being so rude.

"What's the matter, can't talk to me?" She remarked as Kendall shook his head no.

"Why not?" Lucy asked, confused.

Kendall pointed, making the two girls turn their heads.

"Oh, no." Ella muttered, seeing James and Carlos confidently stride up to them.

Lucy gave her a puzzled look, not understanding what was happening.

"Hello there." James flirted. "It's Lucy, isn't it? Welcome to the Palm Woods."
