Through the storm

Conrad approaches his dad and Kyle, looking a bit uncertain.

Conrad: "Hey, Dad, Kyle, I got invited to a guys' night with Devon, Irving, AJ, Jake, Gregg, Nolan, Paul, Nate, Jude, and Randolph. But Gigi's running a fever and is fussier than usual. I'm not sure if I should go."

Marshall: "Conrad, you've been doing an amazing job. It's important for you to take a break too. We'll take good care of Gigi."

Kyle: "Absolutely. We've got this. Go have some fun, you deserve it."

Conrad: "Are you sure? I don't want to leave if she needs me."

Marshall: "We're sure. You need to recharge too. If anything comes up, we'll call you right away."

Feeling reassured, Conrad decides to go, knowing Gigi is in good hands. He heads out for the night, ready to enjoy some much-needed time with his friends.

Conrad hands Kyle and his dad the baby monitor.

Conrad: "Here's the baby monitor. There's a bottle in the fridge if she gets hungry. You have my number, so call if anything happens. I shouldn't be any later than 8 PM."

Marshall: "Got it, son. Enjoy your night out. We'll take good care of Gigi."

Kyle: "Don't worry, Conrad. We've got this covered."

Conrad takes one last look at Gigi, feeling reassured by his dad and Kyle's confidence. He heads out, ready to enjoy the evening with his friends, knowing Gigi is in good hands.

When Conrad gets to Waylon's bar and meets up with his friends, he feels a wave of relief and excitement. The familiar faces of Devon, Irving, AJ, Jake, Gregg, Nolan, Paul, Nate, Jude, and Randolph greet him with cheers and pats on the back.

Devon: "Hey, Conrad! Glad you could make it!"

AJ: "We were starting to think you bailed on us!"

Conrad smiles, feeling the camaraderie and support from his friends. They find a table and order some drinks, catching up on life and sharing stories. Conrad feels a sense of normalcy and relaxation, enjoying the laughter and banter.

Jake: "How's Gigi doing?"

Conrad: "She's got a bit of a fever, but my dad and Kyle are watching her. They assured me everything would be fine."

Gregg: "Good to hear. You deserve a break, man."

As the evening progresses, Conrad feels grateful for the time spent with his friends, knowing that he's surrounded by people who care about him and his family. He keeps an eye on the time, making sure he doesn't stay out too late, but for now, he enjoys the moment and the company.

In the middle of a game of darts, Conrad steps aside to take a moment to call Kyle. He pulls out his phone, a bit anxious but wanting to check in.

Conrad: "Hey, Kyle! Just wanted to see how things are going with Gigi."

Kyle: "Hey! She's doing alright, just a little fussy, but we've got her settled down with a bottle. No worries at all!"

Conrad feels a wave of relief wash over him.

Conrad: "Thanks, man! I appreciate it. I'll be home by 8, just wanted to make sure everything's cool."

Kyle: "You got it! Enjoy your night, we'll keep an eye on her."

Conrad hangs up, feeling reassured. He heads back to the game, ready to throw some darts and have fun with his friends.
