HAYLEY SWAN LET OUT A LOUD SQUEAL AND BOUNDED INTO THE OPEN ARMS OF HER FATHER, SQUEEZING HIM WITH ALL HER MIGHT. It had been far too long since she had seen her dad, and the older Swan girl couldn't have been happier to be back in Washington rather than sunny Arizona.
"Look at you, Kiddo!" Charlie grinned as he spun his oldest daughter in a circle. "You've gotten taller."
"Not by much." Hayley chuckled as her dad put her down, pushing a piece of her hair out of her face. "I missed you so much, Daddy." The girl once again wrapped her arms around her father, and Charlie returned the embrace, kissing the top of her head.
"I missed you, too, Kiddo." He whispered.
Bella had chosen to stay back during the interaction. Unlike Hayley, she didn't have a real relationship with their father, while Hayley often preferred Charie over their mother. And Bella didn't resent Hayley for that; she was happy with just the way things were in their small family. Because deep down, the Swan girls knew that each parent had their favorite twin.
