XANDER LET OUT ANOTHER GROWL AS HE SLAMMED HIS FIST INTO A TREE, SHATTERING IT INTO SPLITTERS AS IT FELL TO THE GROUND WITH A GROAN. He had been on a rampage since he had returned from Hayley's home and hadn't even bothered to go inside. He instead chose to destroy a few trees behind the Cullen home, cursing away at the sky, and he knew Esme was watching with sad eyes from the living room window.

The Cullen matriarch shook her head. She didn't know what had happened, but she could tell it wasn't good. At least her youngest son wasn't using his gift to drain the water from every tree in the forest. And she had already called Carlisle, and she was sure Alice would know what had happened.

Her head turned when she heard her husband's car pull into the garage, but she didn't take her eyes off of Xander, who had kicked the broken tree across the yard, sending it flying into another one. She could only pray he didn't aim any of his anger towards the house, but she doubted he would. No matter how angry he was, Xander would never do anything to cause Esme stress.

"Did he say anything?" Carlisle appeared behind her, hands on her shoulder.

"No. He's been like this since he got home." She told him, still watching her youngest son. He finally seemed to cool down enough to sit on the fallen tree, his head in his hands. "Something must have happened when he went to see Hayley."
