AS SOON AS XANDER PULLED INTO THE PARKING LOT OF PENNY'S BAR AND DINER, HE IMMEDIATELY FELT AT PEACE. He had been coming to this place since he was young, and it always comforted him whenever he felt like the world was against him. And right now, he needed Penny's advice.
It was late, nearly eight at night, meaning the place wouldn't be busy and Penny would be getting ready to close for the evening. It was the perfect time to sneak in and talk to her.
Camden had already made a beeline for the pool table that rested in the back corner. He knew Xander needed privacy and decided that playing a few rounds would be a fun way to pass the time. Meanwhile, Xander had already found Penny.
Penny was at the bar, cleaning glasses with her hair pulled into a messy bun on her head. A pink scarf was wrapped around her forehead and was tied into a bow off to the side. Instead of wearing her usual sundresses, she was in a pair of cuffed jeans and an old ABBA shirt. The line around her eyes and mouth hinted at how she was older than she once had been, but she was still beautiful.
