THE DAY AFTER THE MEETING WITH THE PACK, HAYLEY FOUND HERSELF IN THE BACK SEAT OF EDWARD'S VOLVO IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL. Xander had opted to skip with Camden, both taking the day to visit Penny and go hunting. It had been a while since Xander had seen Penny, and he wanted to check on her. So, Hayley was persuaded (forced by Bella) to hitch a ride with Edward to school.
And Edward had made sure to tell Hayley that she could not tell Bella about the hunt for Victoria. Of course, Hayley would be telling her sister later. She didn't keep secrets from Bella, and she hated how much more toxic Edward was getting. Hayley nearly scratched his eyes out after she learned how the mind-reader had disabled her sister's truck to prevent her from going to the Rez. She was close to dousing his piano on fire and having him watch it burn while Xander and Camden held her down.
